The Altoona Youth Softball and Baseball Association (formerly known as the Altoona Junior League) is a nonprofit organization formed nearly 50 years ago. It provides baseball and softball programs for Altoona area youths during the late spring and summer months.
The association is administered by a 15 member Board of Directors who are elected each fall and serve on a voluntary basis. Board meetings are held periodically and are open to the public. Time is allotted near the start of each meeting for public comments. Check with any association officer for the date and time of the next meeting. Board meetings are usually held at the VFW Hall at 6:00 pm the first Sunday of each month.
Our baseball program operates under the jurisdiction of the national Babe Ruth Baseball association. This affiliation applies to all age groups with players 12 and under playing as part of Babe Ruth's Cal Ripken Division. Playing field size and rules are essentially the same as those of the national "Little League" organization.
Our softball program is affiliated with the American Softball Association (ASA).
