Whitestown Park Welcomes the Blazers in 2010
The Town of Whitestown and the Oriskany Blazers have reached an agreement that will make the Whitestown Town Park the exclusive training/practice facility for the Blazers in 2010 and forward. The team previously held its practices at Hamilton College for the past 7 years. The move for the Blazers provides the team with many new advantages, including a quality ball field as a practice facility, along with extra space and fields needed for drills and camps. While the team will still play it's home games a mile away in Oriskany, the field will also be available to the team for scrimmages and rain make-ups if necessary. The Blazers will begin practicing for the 2010 season in May at the park, and with the park currently expanding along with the facilities currently in place, the future is very bright. The team would like to thank Tim & Sal Granato, and the Town of Whitestown for helping make the Whitestown Town Park Home to the Blazers.

Blazers accept bid to 2010 Dream Bats Tournament in CT.
The 2010 Oriskany Blazers will be heading to Enfield Connecticut in late May for the Dream Bats Wood Bat Tournament after accepting a bid from the tournaments director to compete in this years tournament. The tournament will be played under NABA rules, and will be a round robin format with 4 teams advancing to single elimination playoffs. The tournament is tentatively scheduled to be played May 28th-30th.

ECBL expands adding Schenectady & Tri-County Bees
The Eastern Collegiate Baseball League has announced the addition of 2 teams to the Collegiate Division for the 2010 season. The two franchises that will be joning the ECBL are a newly formed team from Schenectady, and the Tri-County Bees. The Tri-County Bees come to the league after playing 8 years in the ENYTBL. The Bees won the 2009 ENYTBL championship with a 29-2 record. The Bees also bring with them NABF experience after winning the 2007 NABF regionals and playing in the NABF Word Series in Jackson, Miss. In 2009 the Blazers met the Bees in a interleague game in Amsterdam and lost to the Bees 10-3.

    NCAA Rule Changes Effect ECBL
The NCAA has put into effect a new rule that will exclude JUCO players from playing on a good number of summer league teams. Any JUCO player "cannot" play for a summer organization that has a coach(head or assistant) that is coaching at a four year school. The reason being is that the NCAA is afraid that the four year coach will try and lure JUCO players into enrolling at their college or university. This leaves players in a tough spot when looking for a summer league to play in. It's also difficult for any summer league teams that are looking to recruit a few local JUCO players. The NCAA will be looking for teams that are in violation of the rule. This rule leaves the Blazers in a good situation with their current coaching situation. The team is able to offer JUCO players the opportunity to play for a quality team with experienced coaching, at a high level of competition.
