New software for Schedules, ID Cards, Game sheets, Score recording

Upper Island has just purchased new sports management software to assist with league functions (the same package as VISL), that will be implemented in VIPL this season.  There will be a number of new procedures this year in VIPL thanks to the many helpful functions of the software package.  Since our implementation time frame is very very quick, we will be rolling out instructions all next week, and we ask for your patience as we get through the bumps in the first week or two.  We are confident that the improved communication capacities of the software will be of real benefit to all our teams through out the season.

Team Pages - including team schedule, contacts and standings will be available for every team - once team staff and player contacts are entered in the system, all will automatically receive notification of any changes to posted games.  Expect login information next week - every player family and team staff member will receive an invite to set up a login to the system.  Teams may also choose to use the communication features of the software to set up team events, track RSVPs and send team messages.

ID Cards - will now be electronic.  Team managers will be responsible for collecting team head shots and uploading them to the software in time for the Oct 1 deadline for ID cards.  The software will produce a game-specific list of ID cards for all rostered players and permits, which can be downloaded just before game day and either printed or brought to the field on your phone to share with the ref.  Expect detailed instructions on this in 2 weeks. Please review the rules to see the consequences should you not have ID cards ready for inspection.

Game Sheets - will now be electronic.  The software will produce a game-specific roster for each match which can be downloaded just before game day and either printed or brought to the field on your phone to share with the ref.  Expect detailed instructions on this next week.

Score recording - team staff will have access to a brief game report that includes scores on the software, and will be responsible for filling it out by noon on Monday for every match.  Expect detailed instructions on this next week.  We will continue to aim to post scores on Monday afternoons, between 4 and 5 PM.  Remember- a maximum score differential of 5 goals will be recorded for VIPL league games.  Please see the rule book for details.

 2.6 Playing Fields and Game Start Times 

1. UISA will only schedule VIPL games on fields in the Nanaimo Regional District or the Comox Valley Regional District, Campbell River Regional District and the Port Alberni Regional District. Note:  No games will be scheduled in Powell River
2. LISA fields will only schedule VIPL games on fields in the Capital Regional District or the Cowichan Valley Regional District
3. Outlined below are acceptable start times for all VIPL games.

Teams with Powell River players for 2019/2020 (subject to change) are:
Riptide U15 boys, U16 Boys, U16 Girls, U18 Girls

Teams with Salt Spring players for 2018/2019 (subject to change):
U17 Girls Gorge (added Aug 27, 2018)

U8 Boys Gorge/Lakehill/SFFC/JDF (updated Dec 5, 2019)

Please ensure game times and locations are submitted by Wednesday, 6:00pm PRIOR to game day (at the latest!- earlier is better!!)
