Baseball U CT's underclass finish in the top 33 teams out 250 teams, in the P.G National Underclassmen Tournament in Ft. Myers, Fla. after a 2nd round 4-2 playoff loss. The team finished with a 4-1 record, scoring 32 runs, and only allowing 12 runs, in 5 games. This team was made up of players from within our committed Baseball U CT 2017 summer program. 9/2/14 Baseball U 17U team wins P.G.Northeast Regional:

The Baseball U 17U team captured the 2014 Perfect Game Northeast Regional Qualifier last night by winning four games in one day. Baseball U completed this same 4 game run back in 2012 while also winning a championship.

The 2014 Baseball U team went 6-0-1 during the 3 day tournament. This championship secures the U's place in Jupiter, Fla for the P.G. National Championships. The team was comprised of players from our four Baseball U affiliates, (NJ, CT, PA, NY). Baseball U CT players that participated in this event were Justin Lasko RHP (2015 Bunnell HS), Kyle Horton INF(2015 Masuk HS), Evan Lumpinski OF (2015 ND West Haven) Nate Panzer OF (2016) and Ben Casparius INF (2017) (Staples HS) and Kevin Weistma C (2016 Bryam Hills, NY).

Horton lead the power surge with a pair of three run homers. His first home run was in the 1st game, an 8-0 win over Long Island Prospects Black, his 2nd, a 3 run homer was in hard fought 5-2 win vs the Bronx Bombers in rd 2. Panzer also collected a pair of hits.

Baseball U then beat one of it's in state rivals Tri-State Arsenal 5-1 as Lasko picked up the save and Lumpinski contributed 2 key hits. In the championship game, and forth of the day, with Lasko throwing to CT U battery mate, Kevin Weistma. Lasko picked up right where he left off, throwing 5 complete innings, giving up 1 ER, surrendering 4 hits, while walking only one. Lasko left with a 5-1 led. Baseball U hung on for a dramatic 5-4 win over another in state rival, the Jersey 9ers.

Congratulations to all of the Baseball U program's and it's players! The whole is ALWAYS stronger then the parts! What a great team effort by the players solidifying Baseball U as one of the top organizations in the Northeast and the country.

2014 Baseball U CT organizational roster once again reflects diversity:

This year Baseball U CT's 2014 organizational roster will be represented by 40 different high schools, from 3 different states. The diversity that our CT program reflects is only one of the reasons our organization is a college development program for high school players. However, this kind of player diversity helps to create a healthy, yet competitive environment for our student/athletes to develop in, while our certified educational teaching staff, prepares them for the rigors of college baseball and life.
