News

Happy New Year everyone.

I am writing on behalf of the Tantasqua Athletic Booster Club.   We are sponsoring our Annual Youth Basketball Nights again this year for both the Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams.   In the past, these nights have been a great community event for families and kids.    The high school players have remarked that this is their favorite night of their season.   The energy and enthusiasm that fills the gym is impressive and makes you feel proud to be a Warrior.

The Girls Night is scheduled for Monday January 29th (JV at 5/Varsity at 6:30).  *Senior Night

The Boys Night is scheduled for Thursday February 8th (JV at 5:30/V at 7:00)*Sr Night and Hall of Fame inductions

We have purposely left out a location as we hope to be in the High School gym for these nights but could possibly be at the Jr. High.   We will send out this detail as we get closer to the event.

Encourage the kids to dress in their Warrior and or Team spirit as prizes will be given out that night.

Thank you so much for your help and support.   Please let me know if you or your players have any questions.

We are very fortunate that Burgess Elementary has allowed us to continue our season by letting us use their facility, however, it is vitally important that EVERYONE follows the rules for use of the school:

  1. No Parking in front of the school.  This is a fire zone and needs to remain one during our use
  2. WATER ONLY in the gyms. This includes players, coaches, siblings and parents.  Burgess has synthetic floors and spills stain these floors.  This will be monitored very closely for the remainder of the season, so we ask you all to help us out.
  3. No dribbling basketballs in the foyer and hallways
  4. Do not enter any parts of the school, other than the areas around the gyms. There are restrooms for adults on the lower level.
  5. For the safety of the players and the spectators, there will be very limited seating in the upper gym.

Thank You-

Dear Parents & Players-
We have been informed by the staff at Tantasqua that as of right now, the Field House is closed off to all access, as well as the Administrative/Guidance/Special Ed offices, fitness rooms and the pool. They do not anticipate the field house being available at least through January. We are working diligently to try to reschedule games and practices in other venues and appreciate your patience while we work through this.  Please refer to our website http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=sturbridgeyouthbasketball and watch for messages from your coaches with updates.

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me.
