Registration: Month of February
Fees:
Individuals $35 in city, $45 out of city
Teams $460 in city, $485 out of city (must have at least 5 players that live within the city limits to get in city rate)

All registration are taken at the recreation department located at 37 East Woodrow Ave, Belmont, NC 28012. Normal office hours are Monday - Thursday 8am to 8pm, Friday 8am to 5pm, and Saturday 9am - 12pm.

AGE GROUPS
A. AGE GROUPS: All dates base on year 2009
3-4 cannot turn 5 before October 15 and must be 3 by December 31
5-6 cannot turn 7 before October 15
7-8 cannot turn 9 before October 15
9-10 cannot turn 11 before October 15
11-12 cannot turn 13 before October 15
9-13 girls cannot turn 14 before October 15 and must be 9 by October 15
DRAFT
A. Players returning from the 2008-2009 season can return to their same team in the same age division. This must be noted on the registration form if a player wishes to return to their same team. All other will go through a draft. The draft will be held as follows:
7-8 yr old – Monday November 30 at 7:30pm @ Belmont Middle School Gym
9-10 yr olds – Wednesday December 2 at 7:30pm @ Belmont Middle School Gym
11-12 yr olds – Tuesday December 1 at 7:30pm @ Belmont Middle School Gym
9-13 yr old girls – Monday November 30 at 8:30pm @ Belmont Middle School Gym
3-4 and 5-6 yr olds will receive a call by December 1 about practice starting December 7
Players need to come to the draft ready to practice and run drills
B. There will be a COACHES ONLY meeting at the recreation dept as follows:
3-4 yr olds – Tuesday November 17 at 6pm 5-6 yr olds – Tuesday November 17 at 6:45pm
7-8 yr olds - Monday November 16 at 6pm 9-10 yr olds – Monday November 16 at 7:30pm
11-12 yr olds & 9-13 girls – Tuesday November 17 at 7:30pm
Coaches will get a discount on the registration fee if they signup to coach at the time they register their child.
C. Exemption(s): Carpooling exemptions are not allowed for 7-8 and above divisions.
1. Head coach son/daughter.
2. Sibling(s)
3. Relative that is the reason a coach is coaching (ex. An uncle is coaching for his nephew)
PLAYER EQUIPMENT
A. A player shall not wear anything that is dangerous to another player. (Ex. Unpadded wrist cast, watches, earrings, etc.)
B. The players must wear non skidding basketball or tennis shoes.
C. Recreation Dept. will supply several balls. Players should not bring their personal balls to the gym.
PRACTICES/GAMES
A. Practices will start Saturday December 5.
B. The earliest the recreation dept has access to the Belmont Middle School gym during the week is 7:30pm. All middle school events will have priority.
C. Games will start January 2. Games may be played on any day of the week. Once games start there will be limited practice time if any.
FUNDRAISERS
A. Picture Button Sales: These can be purchased from the recreation department approximately a week after pictures have been taken. The cost of the button will be 2 for $5. We will only have buttons for players that take individual pictures on picture day.
B. T-shirt sales: Each team will have an order form to order team t-shirts for parents or sibling (the players uniform is included with the registration fee). This will be a t-shirt in the same color as your child’s team with a Belmont Basketball logo. The cost of the t-shirts will be $10 for S-XL, $11 for XXL, and $12 for XXXL. Youth sizes are also available for $10. The deadline to order shirts will be Monday December 14.
FEES
A. The registration fee is $35 in city and $60 out of city per player and it covers the players’ jersey, shorts, trophies, banquet, officials, equipment, gym usage and any maintenance.
B. No refund will be given after the registration date has expired. If a player drops after this point the uniform, trophy, and banquet will be forfeited.
Please help us keep the parks clean by picking up trash after the practices and games.
