Schedule Changes Updated
The Barons schedule has been updated with a few cancellations, a make-up, and a few new games. New games have been added on June 20th vs. Kenosha @ BHS (3:00) and July 23 vs. Dousman @ Beaumont (7:00). These are non-league games to fill the void left by Chicago cancelling.
A DH will be played when the Barons visit Sullivan July 5th to make up for the season opener lost to rain. A noon start is scheduled for that day.
Please check the online schedule weekly to check for any updates.
Chicago Impact Cancels Games
The Chicago Impact has canceled all 3 games that they had scheduled with the Barons for the Summer '09 season. The apparently got into a league in the Chicago area at the last minute and this left their schedule very tight. We will be trying to replace all or as many of those games as we can if there are any takers in the area. Updates as they come.
Barons Focused on Land Of Lakes in 2009
The Burlington Rotary Barons are set to begin their second season in the Southwest Division of the Land of Lakes. However, in 2009, this will be the only league for the Barons. They are focused on reaching the Land of Lake playoffs after just missing them last season.
The Barons are counting on a strong season from their returners to provide a balanced attack in the Land of Lakes. Led by the Player/Assistant Manager Ryan Hoffman, the Barons will look for contributions from new members also. Back from a long hiatus from the team, original Baron, Aaron DeGrave returns to provide a spark to the young Barons Squad.
The Barons will open the regular season on April 26th against the Sullivan Roosters. Game time is 1:30 pm at Beaumont Field.
Burlington Rotary Continues to Sponsor Barons
April 26, 2009
The Barons are excited to continue their partnership with the Burlington Rotary. For the past few seasons the Rotary has been a major supporter of the Baseball 2000 Reverse Raffle that benefits Beaumont Field. This will be the second year in a row that Rotary will be the Baron's main sponsor. We hope to provide both a positive image for Rotary and quality entertainment for the community of Burlington and the rest of our sponsors.
