Christ Church Men's Softball..It's More Than Just A Ballgame!
Greetings! Welcome to the official site of the Men's Softball Ministry of Christ United Methodist Church.

The mission of this Ministry will be:

1) To connect men and their families with Jesus Christ our Lord;

2) To develop accountability relationships between men of God;

3) To develop our spirits and bodies for the purpose of fulfilling the Lord's Great Commission

It was through this program that God reached out to me and changed my life forever. For that reason, Christ Church Softball is designed to serve as an entry point, if you will, for men who; 1) have an interest in participating in organized sports activity; and 2) need to be exposed to the love and grace offered to all of us through Jesus Christ.

For those who wish to play, Christ Church Men's Softball offers a variety of opportunities depending on a players ability/desire. We have 3 teams which compete in the John Ellis Memorial Men's Softball League. This league is composed of teams of men from several churches in the Metro-East community which compete against each other on Monday evenings during late spring and summer of each year. There are two divisions in the league: Division I is designed for athletic, highly competitive individuals, and Division II is built for those who, although competitive, seek a more recreational aspect of the game. Eligible players must be 16 years of age or older and are required to attend worship services on at least 2 occasions per month.

The Ministry also competes in area public leagues. The purpose of our outreach teams is to witness in an environment which often contains unchurched men. The world seems to believe that Men of God are weak. We hope to prove that myth untrue. Men of God are highly competitive, yet we seek to compete in a Godly way.

The Softball Ministry also offers opportunities for those who are unable to play, yet would like to be a part of the team. There are multiple support positions which need to be filled each season. Among those are base coaches, scorekeepers, photographers, and sports writers. The goal of the ministry is to take any man who wants to be involved and plug him in! If you are new to the church, this is a great way to get to know other Godly men.
