Board Positions opening
NEWS FROM THE EDGEWOOD BASEBALL ASSOCIATION
Well it’s been a great year with 4 of our teams finishing 1st in their divisions and going to the State playoffs. In the past few years we have installed a scoreboard on field 1 and light poles for future lights on field 2. We have done dirt work on field 2 to improve it. The concession stand has worked well these past few years with having a paid manager and consistent workers. We have also re-established a relationship with the City Office. But as we all know there is a time where change has to take place. As of the end of this ball season, Our President Steve Hendrix and our Secretary/Treasure Karen Grell and our Parliamentarian Matt Tyner will not seek re-election to make room for our younger players parents to step up and work with the Association. We will be holding elections in the near future and we want you to have the chance to think about how you can help or know of someone that may be interested in sitting on the board of the Edgewood Baseball Association. All positions are open for election as follows President, Executive Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian. We are making the Secretary and Treasurer 2 separate positions to help ease the workload for one person. So please be in thought and prayer about this and we will keep you informed of the upcoming elections on our website www.edgewoodbaseball.net and in the Edgewood Newspaper. The entire community is invited to attend and participate in the election process. A statement of the current financial condition will be read at the meeting and a copy published in the Edgewood Enterprise and the Van Zandt news.
2009 District Tournament
Well the District tournament is over and EBA is proud to announce that the T-Ball Edgewood Bulls and the Sr. Midget Edgewood Titans have advanced to the State Championships! Way to go kids and coaches. And of course what would we do without you fans!!
We have also heard that the Edgewood Lady Dogs (Freshman league) and the Edgewood Big Dawgs (Boys Coach Pitch) are headed to State as well.
This is the 1st year for Van Zandt County to send T-Ball and Coach Pitch teams to state championships and we are proud to say we are sending 1 of each for the 1st year!
