    Sgt. Patrick McDonald
Last September, Sgt. Patrick McDonald, a Morrell native, a former LBYO player, Christ the King and Archbishop Ryan student was gunned down while chasing a suspect in broad daylight. Because of his stong community ties, several of Pat's friends organized and ran a benifit flag football tournament that took place on all of our LBYO fields. It was a marathon event with non stop games for an entire weekend and featured police, fireman and numerous other teams from several states.
Larry McDonald, Pat's father and a former fireman who's details included the neighborhood that Pat worked, has been busy raising public awareness of the difficult job that Philadelphia, and really all police face day to day. The senior McDonald was featured in the April 2nd edition of the Northeast Times. You can read the story by clicking on the links.
We are very gratefuly to the McDonald family for making a contribution to LBYO in honor of Pat to help make the club a better place for the youth of our neighborhood.

We're now accepting additional sponsors on our home run fence on field #5.

Since these signs are large, and located at field #5 near the playground area you will not only reach LBYO and visiting families but also reach families using the playground facilities including the preschool people!

Click the link up top for more information.

    Brian Niemczak Foundation
Special thanks to the Brian Niemczak Foundation

The Brian Niemczak Foundation has once again committed to the youth of LBYO. Previous donations have been catcher's equipment (as seen above), batting helmets, hats and visors. This year's contribution from the Brian Niemczak foundation will be seen mostly on our largest field, field 5. Every baseball player at LBYO eventually moves up to the 90' field at LBYO, and now they will enjoy a new scoreboard and foul ball poles. Other improvements will be made throughout the club also courtesty of the BNF.

Brian was a neighborhood kid who played sports at LBYO and passed away in 2000. His family has been active in assisting neighborhood children in various ways since Brian's death, and now has graciously donated this new equipment to us. Funds are raised through various fundraisers, mainly their annual golf outting at Bensalem CC.

    General Meetings
LBYO has membership meeting on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 9pm. Our club supports hundreds of kids in the neighborhood, most likely including yours. Come out and see what's going on, help your organization thrive. Lend us your mind for 1 hour on 2 nights per month. We'll even make it worth your while, if you make the required 12 meetings in 12 months you can become a "voting member," who's rights include half off registrations.
