The Lyndhurst Little League Dinner will be on Thursday, October 15, 2009
at San Carlo's Restaurant from 6:30PM to 10:00PM.
This is to honor 12 year old graduates and the divisional champions.

GOOD LUCK TO GARFIELD LITTLE LEAGUE WHO WILL BE HOSTING THE 2009 NJ STATE LITTLE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT. THE TOURNAMENT STARTS ON FRIDAY JULY 31ST AND RUNS THRU AUGUST 4TH. THE WINNER MOVES ONTO THE EASTERN REGIONAL TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN BRISTOL CONN. THE FOLLOWING WEEK. OUR BEST WISHES GO OUT TO OUR SECTION 2 WINNER NUTLEY EAST WHO JUST WON THE SECTION 2 TOURNAMENT HELD HERE IN LYNDHURST LAST WEEK.
NUTLEY EAST WINS SECTION 2 CHAMPIONSHIP
NUTLEY EAST'S 11-12 YR OLD TEAM JUMPED OUT TO AN EARLY 6 RUN LEAD THAT STUNNED WEST NEW YORK AMERICAN AND WENT ON TO WIN THE SECTION 2 NJ LITTLE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT 8-3 ON 7/25 IN LYNDHURST. NUTLEY ADVANCED ONTO THE STATE TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN GARFIELD STARTING ON 7/31. WEST NEW YORK BATTLED TO THE END,COMING OUT OF THE LOSERS BRACKET TO MAKE FINALS IN BOTH THE DISTRICT AND SECTION TOURNAMENTS.CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS IN THIS YEARS SECTION TOURNAMENT. WEST NEW YORK AMERICAN SLUGS ITS WAY INTO THE FINALS BY BEATING GARFIELD 9-3 TO ADVANCE TO THE FINALS OF NJ SECTION 2 11-12 YR. OLD LITTLE LEAGUE FINALS ON FRIDAY 7/24. THEY WILL FACE NUTLEY EAST ON SATURDAY AT 7PM, IF THEY WIN THEIR WILL BE AN IF NECCESSARY GAME ON SUNDAY 7/26 AT 7PM. GARFIELD AFTER A LONG RUN FINISHED IN 3RD PLACE.

MDPC COMPLETED A SWEEP OF THE FINAL WEDNESDAY NIGHT WITH AN 11-0 WIN OVER A TOUGH COCCIA REALTY SQUAD. IN GAME 1 OF THE SERIES MDPC WON IN A SLUGFEST 13-7.MDPC COLLECTED 14 HITS LED BY NICK MATARAZZO 3 HITS AND NICK CUTOLA WITH 2 BIG HITS. RYAN DONAHUE PITCHED 4 STRONG INNINGS FOR THE VICTORS. Lyndhurst Little League Funday

Lyndhurst Little League's 3rd annual Funday will be this Saturday June 13th beginning at 11am. There will be games and prizes for all players young and old and ofcourse some great food!!! We will have our annual base running competition and based on the amount of Home Runs hit this season our Home Run Derby is shaping up to be one of our best ever.
All players are required to wear their team jersey to Funday. Hopefully we see everyone turn out for a great day to congratulate our players for a great season.
Lyndhurst Little League and Minor League Playoffs

The new playoff format has provided us with two striaght days of great baseball!!!!
In the American League #1 seed Cricket hosted #3 seed Lyndhurst Florist in the American League Championship game. Cricket powered by a 3 run homer by Tony Urgola jumped out to an early lead but there was no quit in Lyndhurst Florist. They fought back but in the end Cricket held on for a 12-7 victory to become the 2009 American League Champion. They will now wait to see who they will be facing in the Town Championship Series.
Congratulations to Cricket on their victory and Lyndhurst Florist on their hard fought season.
In the National League #2 seed Amvets faced #3 seed Elks in a 2nd round matchup. Conner Luland's 2 run homer proved to be the game winner as Nolan Kelly pitched into the 6th inning to earn a 6-4 victory over Elks. Ben Kowalek kept Elks in the game with a key triple and some outstanding defensive play. Congratulations to Elks for a great run to end the season.
Amvets (11-5) will move on to play #1 seed Century 21 (15-0) for the National League Championship tonight at 6:30PM This will be the 2nd time in three years that Amvets and Century have played each other to decide the National League Championship. These two teams have provided fans with some classic battles over the years and tonights matchup should just add to it.
Our Minor Leaguers will begin their playoffs tonight when Coccia Realty faces Jimmy's Artisitc in a 1st round matchup.

The first playoff format in Lyndhurst Little League's long storied history proved to be well worth the wait. Last night the playoffs started with two exciting games.
In the American League #3 seed Lyndhurst Florist pulled off some extra inning heroics to upset #2 seed American Legion 9-7 in 8 innings. Lyndhurst Florist advances to play in the American League Championship game tonight against #1 seed Cricket.
In the National League Elks and IACL matched up in a #3 seed tiebreaker. While both teams were powered by strong pitching Elks continued their strong play and was victorious over IACL 6-3. #3 seed Elks moves on to play #2 seed Amvets tonight in a 2nd round matchup.
Good Luck to all teams and we encourage everyone to come out and watch the exciting action.

LYNDHURST LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYOFFS BEGIN TONIGHT

After a week of exciting come from behind victories the playoff picture has finally been decided.
After a dramatic come from behind victory this past Saturday vs. Savinos IACL (8-7) forced a tie for the #3 seed with Elks (8-7). They will battle it out tonight to see who will go on to play the #2 seed Amvets (10-5) on Tuesday. Century 21 clinched the #1 seed with their 15-0 regular season and they will be waiting to play the winner of Tuesday's game for the National League Championship on Wednesday.
On the American League side #2 seed American Legion (9-5) will play #3 seed Lyndhurst Florist (7-7) tonight to see who will be playing #1 seed Cricket (13-1) on Tuesday for the American League Championship.
We encourage everyone to come out and watch these 7 teams battle it out to see who will be playing in the Town Championship Series

DEREK SABATO left the game due to sickness and JUSTIN SMITH came in to pitch and shut down SAVINOS to earn the win. IACL came back from 3 runs down in the 6th inning to send the game into extra innings. IACL hitters took control in the 7th inning to earn the victory.

BILLY HOOPER pitched 3 strong innings and TOMMY HOOPER pitched the last inning to seal the victory. The offense for LYNDHURST FLORIST was paced bye BILLY HOOPER, SMA BURKHARDT, CHRISTIAN CAMILO, ANTHONY CAPORRINO & NICK DiTOMASSO, all with 2 hits each. AUGIE BURKHARDT hit his 6th Home Run of the season. RAY CONLEY had 2 hits for HILD LANDSCAPING.

AUGIE BURKHARDT pitched a strong 4 innings, striking out 11 batters. The LYNDHURST FLORIST offense was paced by CHRISTIAN CAMILO with 3 hits, ANTHONY CAPORRINO with 2 hits and AUGIE BURKHARDT with a Single and a Home Run. ANTHONY FERRULLI hit a Double for STELLATOS.
CENTURY 21 - 13, BERGEN COUNTY GLASS - 2
GEORGE RYAN pitched 5 innings and GIO SANTIAGO hit 2 more Home Runs for a total of 10 Home Runs this year in a 13-2 CENTURY 21 win over BERGEN COUNTY GLASS. ANTHONY PONTERIERO hit a Home Run for BERGEN COUNTY GLASS.
