Welcome to the Home of the
    Plymouth Nazarene Soccer Club

We are a family oriented Christian soccer club based out of the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene, involving children from our church and our community. We are affliated with the Christian Youth Soccer League, CYSL.

For the Spring 2008 season, we have four teams. The Storm and The Thunder play in the PeeWee division of the CYSL, The Cyclones play in the CYSL Junior B division and The Hurricanes play in the CYSL Junior A division.

    Soccer Rules for Parents
March 31, 2008 Soccer Rules – Got Questions? Don’t understand certain rules of the game? Often wonder why a referee made a call in a certain way? Don’t assume that you are correct and that the referee is wrong. Don’t harass the referee. Leave discussions with the referees to the coaches. Keep it to yourself and check it out later. Please understand that a number of the rules can be subjective in nature and may vary from referee to referee (especially in regard to Laws 11 – Offsides & 12 – Fouls and Misconduct). Referee abuse WILL NOT be tolerated. Remember, referees are people too and make mistakes just like you. A more informed spectator may come to understand why a referee may or may not have blown their whistle.

Below are a couple of resources that can be used to become more familiar with soccer’s rules.

For some basic general rules review Soccer Rules for Parents

For a more extensive explanation, check out the FIFA Laws of the Game 2006. FIFA is the international governing body for Soccer rules. The HTML version of the Laws of the Game 2006 on their website provides a nice interactive menu system for quick review.

For a further detailed explanation of offsides, the FIFA website above also has a great interactive guide to Law 11 – Offsides.
