    SPF Lacrosse Club Parents Meeting
    Tuesday 10/27/09


    Where: At the High School Multi-Purpose Room
    When: Tues Oct 27 from 8-9pm

    Who should attend:
    · Parents of players wishing to play lacrosse in 3rd through 8th grade, boys and girls.
    · Parents of existing players with questions, comments, or suggestions.
    . Parents wishing to volunteer as Assistant Coaches or Parent Managers
    What will be discussed:
    · For newcomers:
    . What is Lacrosse?  Team sport played on a football sized field, requiring running, speed, quickness, and stamina.
    . Boys:  full contact hitting in 5th through 8th grade
    . Girls: no contact
    . Equipment needed
    SPFLC Programs
    · 3rd/4th grade lacrosse as a learn-to-play, in-house developmental program
    · 5th through 8th grade as a TRAVEL program.
    SPFLC Objectives
    . SPFLC plans to develop its travel program to compete on a level equal to other teams in our conferences
    . SPFLC wishes to attract athletic players to fill out existing rosters
    . SPFLC’s requirement for commitment from travel players and understanding that playing time is determined by coaches
    . . . . . . . . . .Coaches will take the 3 A's into consideration: Attitude, Attendance, and Aptitude.
    . Travel team capacities and team size limits.
    . SPFLC plans to act as a feeder program to develop players wishing to play in newly added High School Lax teams
    · SPFLC’s needs for volunteers and coaches
