THE NASHVILLE PHILLIES WON THE 2009 TENNESSEE BASEBALL FEDERATION LEAGUE TOURNAMENT SUNDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE A LARGE CROWD AT MADISON CIVIC CLUB PARK BEATING THE NASHVILLE PIRATES 2 - 1 IN 12 INNINGS, RIGHT HANDER TYLER TILLMAN WENT ALL 12 INNINGS TO GET THE WIN, VETERAN RICK MILLER OF THE PIRATES ALSO PITCHED ALL 12 INNINGS TO GET A TOUGHT LOSS, THE PIRATES SCORED A RUN IN THE TOP OF THE 7TH INNING TO TAKE A 1 - 0 LEAD, THE PHILLIES SCORED A RUN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH WITH 2 OUTS TO TIE THE GAME, IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 12TH INNING, WITH 1 OUT, 3RD BASEMAN JASON ODOM SINGLED, STOLE 2ND, THEN WITH 2 OUTS SHORTSTOP JOSH STEWART HIT A SINGLE TO RIGHT SCORING ODOM FROM 2ND TO END THE GAME. THE PIRATES WERE COMING OUT OF THE LOSERS BRACKET AND WOULD HAVE HAD TO WIN 2 GAMES TO CLAIM THE TITLE. THE PIRATES CLAIMED THE REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP, IT WAS THE FIRST TITLE FOR EITHER TEAM IN THE TENNESSEE BASEBALL FEDERATION, THE PHILLIES FINISHED AS RUNNER UP IN 2008. I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO WAS IN INVOLVED WITH THE TENNESSEE BASEBALL FEDERATION IN 2009, WE LOOK FORWARD TO A MUCH IMPROVED SEASON FOR 2010.

The Tennessee Baseball Federation is a Semi-Professional Wood Bat League that plays in Nashville and surrounding cities. In 2009 we will add a College Division to the League, this Division was formerly known as the Sandlott woodbat league, the new Division will be know as the College Division, it is made up of College Players from accross the U.S., any College Player can apply to the League, the College Division will play 34 -38 games from the first week of June - the last week of July, each team will play 2 - 3 double headers per week . Our Semi Pro Division schedule will include 23-25 games through the summer and will host the NASPBA State Championship in Nashville. The TBF is formed on the basis that more attention, care, and time should be put into Tennessee 18+ baseball. Our stride to provide a guaranteed quality of our league will be insured through the thoughts and input of our managers, players, and it's fans using mass voting on league decisions. A mid season All-Star game and Home Run Derby will showcase the areas top talent and boost the allure of semi-pro baseball's fan base! Our National Affiliation will be through the National American Semi-Professional Baseball Association respectively, allowing us to send our top squads off to post season play at state and regional levels, as well as World Series play. Players can flourish in the TBF along with teams, in that players and managers will all be awarded weekly and yearly honors for outstanding achievements and on-field performance. As we harbor some of Tennessee's top tier talent, we will also allow our athlete to excel as men on and off the field as they learn respect through the great game of baseball.
