ITS OFFICIAL - RAGE CAMP IS CANCELLED
February 6, 2010

Before too may people ask, could you post this on the site.

Due to unforeseen scheduling problems, we will not be able to hold the Rage Pre-season Lacrosse camp in Port Moody this season. We have looked into alternatives to make it possible this season, but with the Olympics, a longer Spring Break and the arena(s) not being available to us until close to the start of the season, any open arena dates will be needed for evaluations. We hope to be able to bring Rage back next year .

Registration 2010 is ONGOING
January 31, 2010
We have completed the in-person registration of returning and new players over 2 nights in January.  I have received 240 of the expected 277 registrations which is 87% .  We will continue to register players in most divisions based upon our needs.

Registration forms are now received by the mail and processed in the order they are postmarked and our vacancies are then filled.  Extra players will be waitlisted while we secure coaches, goalies and floor time.  It is to your advantage to register ASAP to secure a spot and avoid waitlisting as being on the waitlist does not guarantee placement this year.

The numbers I have will be discussed at our next executive meeting in February.   After that meeting I will post what our needs are by division and I will continue to update those numbers till registration closes in late February.

As of Feb 9 we are at 252 and our needs are:

Division
 Year of Birth
Have Room for # Players till @ CAPACITY
Minityke
 2004 / 2005
10 - 2 teams
Tyke
 2002 / 2003
4 - 2 teams
Novice
 2000 / 2001
6 - 3 teams
Pee Wee
 1998 / 1999
6 - 4 teams
Bantam
1996 / 1997
waitlisting
Midget
1994 / 1995
5 - 2 teams
----------------
--------------------
-------------------------
Female Novice
2000 / 2001
8 - 1 team
Female Pee Wee
1998 / 1999
4 - 1 team
Female Bantam
1996 / 1997
waitlisting
Female Junior
1989 to 1993
12 - 1 team

Waitlisting means we are at capacity for the teams we have in that division.   Extra players are waitlisted to see if we can get enough players, coaches and goalies to form another team.  Another way for waitlisting to work for you is if existing players withdraw.  You will then be contacted to play in the order you are waitlisted.

- arena not available to lacrosse until April 12 which also the first day of games for Midget, other divisions will follow in the following weeks
- evaluations will be outdoors at Westhill Box because of late opening of arena
- late opening of arena is putting Rage Camp in jeopardy
- general evaluation schedule outlined for weekends in March to be confirmed with division coordinators and coaches
- Kidsport Used Equipment sale to be held in Poco....details will follow
- Tyke and Mini-Tyke team formation will occur week of April 12.....details will follow

USED SPORTING GOODS SALE @ POCO - MARCH 7
March 7, 2010 - 10:00 AM

KidSport Tri-Cities
Spring Used Sporting Goods Sale

KidSport Tri-Cities is holding their Spring Used Sporting Goods Sale:

Mar 7 from 10am until 3pm

Port Coquitlam
Rec Centre
2150 Wilson Avenue.

This event is organized by Poco Lacrosse and benefits all kids in our area. To make this event a huge success we need equipment and you can donate locally at:

Cyclone Taylor Sports - 562J Clarke Road

Monday to Wednesday and Saturday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm

Thursday and Friday 9:30 am to 8:00 pm
Sunday and Holidays 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

If you have used equipment taking up space in your garage or basement, this is a great opportunity to free up some space, donate the equipment and make a great contribution to our community. This event will only be a success if we have a good selection of equipment, and we need the community’s help to ensure we have that equipment.

Even if you don't have equipment to donate it is a great opportunity for kids to purchase equipment and help out kidsport at the same time.
