Game Summaries
he AHS Boy's Varsity Lacrosse team defeated Campolindo's Varsity squad 22-2 last night, for a sweep of their season series against the Cougars in 2009. After another slow start, which resulted in a 2-2 tie game at the end of the first quarter, the Dons' defensive group shut-out Campo for the remainder of the match, while the offense scored 20 unanswered goals to close-out the contest. Attackman Jack Bergman led all scorer's with 4 goals and 6 assists, Attackman Paul Wells had 4 goals and 3 assists, Midfielder Logan Quinn and Attackman Andrew Atkins had 4 goals each, Attackman Pete Wignall had 3 goals, Midfielder Andrew Curley had 2 goals and Midfielder David Gomez had the first goal of the game on Senior Night. Next up for the Dons - Miramonte HS away, next Monday, 5/4/09, at 7:00 pm.
The AHS Boy's JV Lacrosse team played their counter-parts from Amador Valley HS in a "Scrimmage Game" earlier last evening, losing the contest by a score of 6-2. Amador's Varsity team is currently in 2nd place in the polls leading into the CIF/NCS post-season play-offs this year, and their JV team's only defeat thus far this season was to their counter-parts from De La Salle, who's Varsity team is now in first place overall. Despite the loss, a terrific showing by our JV squad in this particular game, which bodes well for the future of the Varsity lacrosse program at AHS, no doubt.
