Lady Rockets travel to South Iredell High School

Third round bound!  Lady Rockets will travel to South Iredell High School Wednesday, May 18.  The game will begin at 7 p.m.  GO LADY ROCKETS!!!!

Lady Rockets upset no. 2 seed Southwestern Randolph!

Lady Rockets traveled to Asheboro to take on the No. 2 seed Southwestern Randolph High School and come home with the win by a score of 2 to 0. Senior Captains Christina Shimshock and Karissa Grooms scored the goals and Grooms assisted one of those goals.  ON TO THE THIRD ROUND LADIES! Way to go!

Lady Rockets with a win in first round of playoffs!

Lady Rockets defeat South Point High School in the first round of playoffs by a score of 3 to 1.  Goals were scored by Sophomores Pali Smith (2) and Grace Sloan.  Assisting with those goals were Senior Captain Christina Shimshock and Seniors Kaley Cross and Caroline Hargadon.  Second round for the Lady Rockets - they will be traveling to Southwestern Randolph High School in Asheboro on Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

FIRST ROUND PLAYOFFS BEGIN!

 First round of playoffs begin Wednesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. where the Lady Rockets will host South Point High School.  COME OUT and SHOW YOUR SUPPORT for your LADY ROCKETS!!

Lady Rockets will be traveling to TC Roberson this evening, Wednesday, May 4, for their final game of the regular season.  Come out and show your support for your LADY ROCKETS!

Lady Rockets Mercy Rule McDowell Lady Titans on Senior Night

Lady Rockets finish up their season home games against McDowell Lady Titans by the mercy rule - 9 - 0.  Great night for Senior Night!!!

Lady Rockets shut out Enka Sugar Jets

Lady Rockets shut out Enka Sugar Jets - 7 - 0. Goals were scored by Senior Captains Christina Shimshock (hat trick) and Ashlyn Perkins, Juniors Kara Arroyo and Ellie Montes and Senior Leila Zefri. Assisting those goals were Senior Captains Christina Shimshock and Ashlyn Perkins, Seniors Celine Jacobi Barnham and Gabby Cole, and Sophomores Pali Smith (2) and Grace Sloan. Road trip for the Lady Rockets this weekend - traveling to the coast of North Carolina this weekend. Safe travels and good luck to the girls in gold and green. 

Game against Asheville High ends in another tie

Lady Rockets meet up with Asheville High and once again come away with a tie. Final score 1 - 1 in overtime. Only goal scored was by Senior Captain Christina Shimshock from an assist by Junior Ellie Montes. Next up for the Lady Rockets - they will be hosting Enka Sugar Jets, with JV at 5 pm and Varsity at 7 pm.

Lady Rockets mercy rule North Buncombe Lady Blackhawks

Lady Rockets show no "mercy" with their win against the North Buncombe Lady Blackhawks - final score of 10 - 1.  Two Lady Rockets earned themselves a hat trick - Senior Captain Christina Shimshock and Junior Leila Zefri - and rounding out the rest of the goals were Sophomore Pali Smith, Senior Captain Kaley Cross, Senior Jordan Melvin, and Junior Kara Arroyo.  Assists were from Senior Captains Karissa Grooms, Ashlyn Perkins and Christina Shimshock (2), Junior Leila Zefri, Freshman Madison Womack, Sophomores Pali Smith and Grace Sloan, Junior Kara Arroyo and Senior Jayda Hart.  KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK LADIES!!!

Lady Rockets victorious over Hendersonville

Lady Rockets defeat Hendersonville by a score of 4 - 2.  It was a good game for both sides.  Goals were scored by Junior Kara Arroyo, Senior Captain Christina Shimshock, Sophomore Grace Sloan and Freshman Madison Womack, with assists by Seniors Captains Christina Shimshock, Ashlyn Perkins and Kaley Cross (2).  Senior GK Brooke Reaves came away with some great saves and the win.  Next up, Lady Rockets will host North Buncombe Lady Blackhawks tonight at 7 p.m.  LET'S GO LADY ROCKETS!!

5th straight shut out for the Lady Rockets!

Lady Rockets were on the road tonight in a conference game matchup with the Erwin Lady Warriors, defeating the Lady Warriors by a score of 7 - 0.  Goals were by Juniors Katie Kearns (2) and Ellie Montes (2), Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (2) and Senior Jordan Melvin.  Assisting those goals were Senior Jordan Melvin, Senior Captains Kaley Cross and Christina Shimshock, Sophomore Grace Sloan and Junior Ellie Montes.  Senior GK Brooke Reaves earning the shut out.  Lady Rockets will play Hendersonville tomorrow, April 12, beginning at 6:30 pm, at R.L. Dalton Stadium in a non-conference game.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

Lady Rockets shut out McDowell Lady Titans 7 - 0

Lady Rockets come away with another shut out, defeating the Lady Titans of McDowell by a score of 7 to 0.  Earning those goals were Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (4); Junior Kara Arroyo (2) and Senior Captain Ashlyn Perkins.  Assists were from Junior Katie Kearns, Senior Captains Kaley Cross with 3 and Karissa Grooms, and Senior Caroline Hargadon.  Next game will be Monday, April 11 at Erwin.  Erwin does not have a JV team fielded, so Varsity will begin at 5 p.m.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADY ROCKETS!

SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR GAME AT McDOWELL TOMORROW!

Tomorrow's game originally scheduled at McDowell High School had to be moved to East McDowell Junior High.  Therefore, since East McDowell Junior High does not have stadium lights, the Varsity game will be played at 5:00 pm, with JV playing immediately at the conclusion of the varsity game.  JV will play until dark.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

ANOTHER SHUT OUT FOR THE LADY ROCKETS!

The Lady Rockets were victorious against North Henderson by a score of 6 - 0. Sophomore Pali Smith and Senior Captain Christina Shimshock scored 2 goals each, with Senior Captain Kaley Cross and Junior Jayda Hart rounding out the other two goals for the night. Assisting those goals were Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (2), Junior Kara Arroyo (2), Senior Captain Kaley Cross and Freshman Madison Wommack. WAY TO GO LADIES! Next up, Lady Rockets will be traveling to McDowell High School on Friday, April 8.

Lady Rockets mercy rule Enka Sugar Jets

Lady Rockets shut out the Enka Sugar Jets and end the game early on the mercy rule, beating them 9 - 0. Let's go through the scorers on the night - Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (2), Sophomore Pali Smith with a hat trick (3), Senior Celine Jacobi Barnham, Junior Katie Kearns, Senior Caroline Hargadon and Junior Kara Arroyo. Assisting those goals were Senior Captains Ashlyn Perkins, Christina Shimshock, Kaley Cross and Karissa Grooms, Seniors Caroline Hargadon and Miranda Rash. Senior GK Brooke Reaves made one save and earned the shut out. Lady Rockets will be home tonight, April 6, hosting North Henderson.

Lady Rockets travel to ENKA

Lady Rockets are on the road this evening for a conference game against the Enka Sugar Jets - JV at 5 pm and Varsity at 7 pm.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

Lady Rockets 2 - ACA - 0

Lady Rockets come away with a win in their game against ACA with a final score of 2 - 0. Senior Captains Kaley Cross and Christina Shimshock showing up to score the goals, with assists from Senior Captains Ashlyn Perkins and Karissa Grooms. Next up is Spring Break for Buncombe County Schools next week, so no games. Stay tuned for the week following where the Lady Rockets travel to Enka High School on Tuesday, April 5.

Lady Rockets end with a tie against Asheville High Lady Cougars

The Lady Rockets maintained a very strong attack but gave up an early goal and trailed Asheville High 1-0 at halftime. Late in the game, senior captain Kaley Cross raced down the sideline and crossed a perfect ball into a streaking Christina Shimshock. The senior captain buried the goal and the game would eventually head into OT where the Lady Rockets took control. Christina set up a beautiful goal by sophomore forward Pali Smtih to stake ACR to a 2-1 lead. Not once, but twice, Kaley Cross got behind the defense and scored in OT and both times, much to the surprise of everyone in attendance, the goals were disallowed and called offside. Asheville was able to tie the game up with just over a minute remaining in the overtime and the game would end in a 2-2 tie. Next up for the Lady Rockets - they will be hosting ACA in a non-conference matchup this evening, with Varsity starting at 6:30 p.m.

Lady Rockets come away with another win!

Lady Rockets hosted Kings Mountain and were victorious by a final score of 6 to 3.  Senior Captain Christina Shimshock got herself another hat trick, with Junior Katie Kearns and Sophomores Grace Sloan and Pali Smith each scoring a goal.  Junior Ellie Montes assisted with two of the goals, while Senior Captains Karissa Grooms and Kaley Cross and Junior Katie Kearns coming away with assists.  Senior GK Brooke Reaves made five saves.  Next up for the Lady Rockets -- they will be hosting Asheville High Lady Cougars at home on Monday, March 21, with JV at 5 and Varsity at 7.

Lady Rockets were victorious over the Erwin Lady Warriors by a score of 8 to 0.  GOALS were by Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (4), Sophomore Pali Smith (2), Junior Kara Arroyo and Senior Captain Ashlyn Perkins.  ASSISTS were by Senior Captains Karissa Grooms (2), Christina Shimshock (2) and Kaley Cross, Sophomore Pali Smith, Seniors Miranda Rash and Gabby Cole.  Senior GK Brooke Reaves earns another shut out.  Next game is Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m. where the Lady Rockets will host Kings Mountain High School.  KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK LADY ROCKETS!

Conference play starts with a win over Blackhawks

The Lady Rockets traveled to North Buncombe in their first conference game of the season, coming away with a win 4 - 0!  Scoring the goals were Senior Captain Ashlyn Perkins (2), Senior Captain Kaley Cross and Junior Ellie Montes.  Assists were Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (3) and Senior Captain Karissa Grooms.  Senior GK Brooke Reaves earns the shut out.  Next game will be at RL Dalton Stadium were the Lady Rockets will host the Erwin Lady Warriors.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

THE BRITTANY

Lady Rockets traveled to Wilson, NC this weekend to play in The Brittany tournament.  On Friday night, the matchup was against Jacksonville High School and the Lady Rockets ended that game with a tie 1 - 1, with Senior Captain Ashlyn Perkins scoring on a penalty kick.  On Saturday, the Lady Rockets went against Fike High School and also came away with a tie, 2 - 2.  Senior Captain Christina Shimshock and Sophomore Pali Smith scoring the goals in that game.  Season conference play begins tonight where the Lady Rockets travel to North Buncombe, JV at 5 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

LADY ROCKETS defeat Fred T. Foard

Lady Rockets were victorious on the road against Fred T. Foard, with a final score of 4 to 1.  Scoring the goals were Senior Captain Christina Shimshock with a hat trick (3) and Junior Katie Kearns.  Assisting those goals were Senior Captain Karissa Grooms (2), Sophomore Pali Smith and Junior Ellie Montes.  Senior Goalkeeper Brooke Reaves made three saves.  Next stop will be at the Brittany in Wilson, North Carolina.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

GAME HOSTING WATAUGA TONIGHT - CANCELLED!

Watauga did not have school today so the game for tonight has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

LADY ROCKETS victorious over Tuscola!

Lady Rockets came through with a victory last night against Tuscola, with a final score of 4 to 1. Goals were scored by Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (2), Sophomore Pali Smith and Senior Captain Kaley Cross. Assisting with those goals were Senior Captain Christina Shimshock (2), Senior Captain Karissa Grooms and Sophomore Pali Smith. Goalkeepers Bela Ramirez and Brooke Reaves both had two saves each. Next game, the Lady Rockets will be traveling to go up against Charlotte Catholic on Wednesday, March 2 at 6 p.m.  GO LADY ROCKETS!

2016 AC Reynolds Lady Rockets Jamboree

The start of the 2015 State Champion Lady Rockets season will kick off this Saturday, February 27 at the 2016 AC Reynolds Lady Rockets Jamboree!  The first games begin at 9 a.m.  Admission is $3.  Concessions will be open, and will be offering sausage and chicken biscuits, and chicken sandwiches (from Bojangles), among other items.  GO LADY ROCKETS!
