All fields are closed until Noon Saturday 3/13. Fields will be assessed before 9AM on Saturday regarding the field status for the rest of the day. RAFFLE TICKET DEADLINE EXTENDED

ABAs raffle ticket deadline has been extended to Saturday 3/20 at 5pm. Please turn your raffle tickets in to the Acworth Sports Complex Concession Stand anytime this week prior to the drawing which will be held on Saturday 3/20 at 5pm.
OPENING DAY AND FIELD DEDICATION
March 13, 2010
Opening Day is this Saturday, 3/13. There are quite a few activities planned as well as some fundraisers. FIELD DEDICATION FOR RANDY SOUTHARD will happen rain or shine at Noon on Field 1. There will be a short ceremony unveiling his field sign and several speakers. BLOOD DRIVE FOR ANNA KATE WEIR AND RANDY SOUTHARD will happen rain or shine across the street from the Acworth Sports Complex at The Acworth Church of God of Prophecy 10AM-3PM. Please see the news item below to register for your time to donate. FUNDRAISERS: tattoos, crazy hair beads, face painting, funnel cakes(Mustang Indians), smoothies/Baskin Robbins(12U Travel), Brax Spirit Cups(11U All Stars), etc. We will continue to post additional activities as they become available. Family Fun night is a great opportunity to come the ball park with your entire family and have a great time! Currently here are some of the activities that will be offered for free: Inflatables, Pitch/Hit/Run Contest (APRD), Rome Braves Mascot Appearance (Opening Day Only), Wachovia table, etc. There will also be some fundraising activities available during Family Fun Night and Opening Day: tattoos FFN/OD, crazy hair beads FFN/OD, face painting FFN/OD, funnel cakes FFN(10U Travel), funnel cakes OD(Mustang Indians), smoothies/Baskin Robbins FFN/OD(12U Travel), Brax Spirit Cups (11U All Stars), etc. We will continue to post additional activities as they become available.

Randy Southard Spring Fever Showdown
Thanks to everyone who helped with Randy's Tournament! Below are a few items of interest and thank you's that you might be interested in:

Blood Drive In Honor Of Anna Kate Weir and Randy Southard

Please consider donating at the blood drive being held Saturday, 3/13, between the hours of 10AM to 3PM. This blood drive is in celebration of Anna Kate Weir, and also in honor of our ABA president Randy Southard. The drive will be held at The Acworth Church of God of Prophecy right across from the Acworth Sports Complex on Main Street in Acworth. So please come out and donate this Saturday. Its a completely free service that others absolutely depend on. Whether it was Randy's family having a small bit of comfort knowing blood was available to help in his fight, or Anna's family breathing a sigh of relief that a new bag was available to keep the ECMO machine going. This amendment proposal is presented by Mustang Director Jim Bitner. It would bring Mustang Division in line with the rest of our divisions by locking 3 players in the draft. It will be voted on 03/21/10.

Scott Pearson has proposed a By Law Amendment that changes the verbiage from "Section 3 - Coaching Prerequisite k. Attend all regular monthly general membership meetings. Penalty: If three or more consecutive meetings are missed, coaching privileges will be taken away." to "k. All managers are strongly encouraged to attend all regular monthly general membership meetings." This will be discussed and voted on at the General Board Meeting Sunday, 2/21, 5:30PM at Roberts School.

PROPOSED BY LAW AMENDMENT

Please see the actual proposed amendment under HANDOUTS. This proposal affects Colt, Shetland, and Pinto Divisions and would allow a manager to lock 2 assistant coaches and their players prior to draft. It would also limit trades to only 1 trade. Shane Dukes has presented this proposed by law amendment. This will be voted on at the Acworth Baseball Association General Board Meeting held on Sunday, 1/17, at 5:30PM at Robert's School.
CONSTRUCTION AT MAIN ST. AND NANCE RD. INTERSECTION!!
Please be aware that there will be construction on the Main Street (Old Hwy 41) and Nance Road intersection. They will be widening the road and adding a turning lane. In addition to the planned construction there was also damage to the Nance Road Bridge. At times there will be more than the usual traffic congestion getting thru this intersection.
RESERVED PARKING
Please do not park in the RESERVED parking spaces. Our concession workers use these spaces so they don’t have to haul concession products across the parking lot with a hand truck. We appreciate your patronage at the concession stand but please don't make our jobs harder. Please, do not park in the RESERVED parking spaces.
FIELD CLOSURE RESTRICTION
When the fields are closed this includes the outfields. DO NOT PLAN ON PRACTICING ON ANY PART OF THE FIELD WHEN CLOSED. Batting cages are open at all times on a first come/first serve basis. Thanks for your cooperation!
