ALDAN GIRLS CLUB ANNUAL BANQUET
The Annual Aldan Girls Club Banquet is just around the corner.
It is scheduled for Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 1:00 to 5:00
at the Oaks on Oak Avenue.
All girls who participated in the Club, as well as any siblings and their parent(s) are invited to join us for an afternoon of fun and recognition of the girls’ accomplishments in the Aldan Girls Club over the past year. Door prizes are given to ALL children who attend, including siblings who are not members of the
Aldan Girls Club.
The cost for the tickets this year are:
$20.00 for adults
$15.00 for children
(Cash and checks will be accepted for banquet tickets)

BASKETBALL SEASON NEWS
All Age groups have started their schedules. The full season schedule has been posted on the website.
A NOTE TO PARENTS
A reminder: as detailed in our registration materials, it is imperative that parents remain in the gym during practices and games. This rule is in place to protect your child so that you are easily accessible in case there is an injury and that your child gets home safely after the practice or game. Our coaches are volunteers who have sacrificed precious time to coach your daughter. Please make sure you are present to take your child home after practice so that the coach does not have to spend additional time making sure everyone is accounted for. Also, we use the gym under the permission of the William Penn School District who has requested that all spectators remain in the gym during games and practices. No one is permitted to roam the school or go in any hallways of the school other than to use the restrooms. Siblings of girls club members need to be supervised in the gym. Additionally, please clean up after you leave and make sure all chairs are folded and put back on the stage after the last game. Thank you for your cooperation.
Bowling will occur each Saturday in January and February as follows:
1:00 to 3:00 pm
(please arrive by 12:45 pm)
At MacDade Bowling Lanes
on MacDade Boulevard
The cost is $8.00 and includes:
2 games of bowling, shoe rental, a snack and beverage.
SOFTBALL SEASON IS COMING!!!
We are attempting to get a handle on how many girls will be playing softball this year. Therefore, we need to get a verbal commitment by February 1 so that we can submit team registrations to the league we play in.
If your daughter(s) are planning on playing softball this year and you have not yet registered, please send us reply to this aldangirlsclub@yahoo.com by February 1 indicating
if they will be participating.
The deadline for submitting your Softball registration form and fee is Tuesday, February 14.
SOCCER NEWS!!!
Congratulations to the Senior Red Team and the Junior Red Team for winning the 2011 Championship in their respective divisions. Great work, to all girls who competed this year!!!
Thank you to all coaches, volunteers and families for helping make this season a fun and enjoyable one. And a special thanks goes out to our soccer commissioner, Ty Taylor, who helped organize and make this a successful soccer season.
CHEERLEADING
Congratulations to our cheerleaders for placing second in their division at the Fourth of July parade! A special thanks goes out to Jess Jordan for coaching the girls this year.
Monthly Meetings
Want to help out? Have any suggestions? Remember the Aldan Girls Club Board meets at the Aldan Recreation Building on the First Thursday of Every Month and everyone is encouraged to attend.
The next meeting is Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 PM at the Aldan Recreation Building on Shisler Ave.
