ALLAMUCHY JUNIORS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE 2012 JUNIOR SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

 

Entering a field of 16 teams, the Allamuchy Juniors persevered through a long hot day to win the 2012 Junior softball tournament.  The Juniors posted victories over Washington Twp and Freylinghusen in the first two games by scores of 6-0 and 8-1 respectively.  Entering the semi-final round, the team was ranked Number One by earning 4 points, scoring a total of 14 runs, and only giving up 1 run after the first two games.  In the semi-final game, the bats stayed hot by punching out another 9 runs while the defense and pitching held a good Belvidere team to just 2.  The championship game versus Oxford was a true nail bitter right to the very end.   Ultimately, Allamuchy held on to a 1-0 victory to earn the championship.  True sportsmanship, positive attitudes, and excellent teamwork were on display all day long leading to a well-deserved victory.
