It is that time of year again! We will hold youth registration starting in mid September through the beginning of October. Please check back often for more instructions on online youth registration. If you would like to register in person, we will hold one registration at Allatoona on October 6th from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

You will have 3 options to complete your registration:

1 - Fill out the form and mail it with a check to the following address:

2 - Pay your fees online with PayPal, complete the form and mail to the above address with a note on the back of the form stating that you have paid fees online through PayPal. Please note the email address that you used when paying through PayPal so we can credit your account accordingly.

3 - Complete the form and bring with you to the on-site registration at Allatoona High School. We will be able to take cash, check, or credit card at the on-site registration.

Bryson Brindle becomes the second Allatoona State Wrestling Champion. Bryson finished his senior year with a 49-2 record and a state title!

First, thanks to all those that helped us make the area tournament a success. We were able to run a great tournament and our wrestlers did very well. This was a tournament that really emphasized the growth we have experienced over the past four years.

Our Varsity team traveled to North Forsyth High School to compete in the Coal Mountain Classic. We used this tournament as a tune-up for the Area Tournament. We had several wrestlers healing or taking SAT's this weekend; therefore, we only took 8 wrestlers to the tournament.

Congratulations to our HS team for a 4th place finish in the 7AAA Dual Tournament. This is the highest finish for Allatoona Wrestling in an area/region competition.

Our varsity team put together a lineup that was able to earn a 2nd place finish at the Crossbone Duals at East Paulding HS. We were able to pull from our JV team to fill in spots where we were missing varsity wrestlers and they came through for us.
Congratulations on a solid performance. We still have a long way to go, but our team is improving with every match.

We receive an e-mail confirming payment, but it only includes the payers name. If your last name differs from your wrestler's, it is best to confirm. We will give each wrestler an invoice on the 1st day of practice, but you may pay early through Paypal.

The 4th annual Blackbeard Duals will kick-off the 2011-2012 GHSA Wrestling Season. We have 14 teams scheduled to participate, with a lineup that includes 2 State Championship teams along with other teams expected to contend for a state title this year.
Day 1 will begin on Nov. 18 with pool wrestling starting at 5:30pm
Day 2 will have a bracketed tournament that will eventually crown a champion.
Last year Woodland HS took the championship and then went on to shock AAAA with a state championship run in the State Duals.

Come out and support your favorite team or just come and enjoy top notch wrestling.

Once again, our wrestlers volunteered to help at the City of Acworth Horizon Field for special needs children. This is a special place where special needs children can participate in baseball in a safe and fun environment. Our wrestlers enjoyed the day and assisted the kids in the field and at bat. This event was coordinated by senior wrestler Drew Prather and attended by many of our seniors as well as other members of our team. It is a great experience for our athletes to give back to the community through sports.

We use email to inform our parents and wrestlers about important events, travel arrangements, schedule changes, cost of operation, booster club needs and meetings and many other items where mass communication is needed.

Parents,
I will be handling fundraisers a little differently this year. Everyone must participate in all of our efforts to raise and maintain funds. The High School kids have several new things happening this year as well as many cost increases on normal required needs like transportation, officials, hotels, mat tape, t-shirt, and everything else you can think of. I am trying to keep us under $500 in gear and participation fees by promoting and requiring small and easy fundraisers.
With all that said, I will be tacking on fundraiser anticipated minimum profits on to your gear and participation fees if the athlete does not participate. Each wrestler will receive an invoice on the first day of practice. The invoice will reflect fundraiser expectations if they are not met to that point. For example: Your invoice will reflect the $390 gear and participation fee and $27.50 if you did not sell 5 sets of Spirit Cups. In addition, at the beginning of official practice on Oct. 31st we will sell another round of 5 cups and that $27.50 will also show up. If you sell the 10 cup sets, you will not see the fundraiser fees on your invoice.
I hope this is clear and not confusing. Please be assured that I am doing everything possible to keep fees as low as possible. There is always the possibility that we will have to come back and ask for another fundraiser, but I feel that I have budgeted and planned to cover all cost.

2011 Youth registration Form
Buccaneer Wrestling Club will hold registration for the 2011-2012 wrestling season on October 1 from 9am to 12pm and October 8 from 9am to 12pm. Registration is limited to approximately 60 youth wrestlers. To insure your spot, please register on the early date. Coaches from our youth program will be available to answer questions as well as High school coaches. Registration this season will be $165. Please bring a check made payable to Allatoona Takedown Club along with the above attachment "2011 Youth Registration Form" to registration.

We had a very successful camp and made improvements as a team. The camp was designed to give each team competition in a dual format while also having technique sessions everyday. This camp was a great way for our team to bond together. The following are the scores from camp:

Over the past 4 weeks, our young team has wrestled 25 dual matches. This has been great experience for our wrestlers. We have several upcoming Freshmen and have wrestled some of our upcoming 8th graders in the lineup. This experience has given us invaluable live match experience.

This calendar is subject to change; it is my intention to get as much information out as early as possible. Next year's school calendar does not allow for us to have as many breaks as we have had in the past during the season.

Congratulations to Nick Christakis on earning the Allatoona Wrestling Program their 1st State Champion. Nick pinned his way to the sate semi-finals and dominated his semi-finals opponent 11-4 to earn the right to wrestle for the title. In the finals, Nick dominated his opponent again and finished his high school career with a major decision (11-3) for the state title.
Nick finished his high school career without ever giving up a pin! In fact, Nick did not give up a pin from 6th grade on!!!!! Amazing accomplishment.

Congratulations Nick, we are very proud of you!!!

Congratulations to Bryson Brindle for earning a spot in the State finals and wrestling a great match (2-3). Bryson had a great season and will look to come back for another run at the state title in 2012!

Congratulations to Luke Rakes for his 4th Place finish Georgia State Tournament. Luke wrestled with heart and determination throughout the tournament. We are so proud of his 2nd year of placement in the state tournament after coming here from Virginia as a state placer in 2009.
