YES, there is a lot of hard work that goes into being a Volunteer, but watching the kids play, learn the game, gain lifelong memories and friendships and attain their goals, IS ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!!!! General Information on the League
ANAHEIM YOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION "AYBA" is a new League for Orange County, with its Founder, Board and newest Members joining us for something more pure and exciting !!!
"JUST BASEBALL !!!!"
We will be just like any other League in that we will have tryouts, drafts, league bylaws, general membership, a Board of Directors and volunteers. If you are interested in a new direction for your players, please give us a call !! (Please note that AYBA is not affiliated with Anaheim Pony. We are separte leagues.) Where this League will differ is significant!! AYBA WILL HAVE NO RESIDENTIAL BOUNDARIES !! NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE YOUR CHILDREN CAN PLAY AT AYBA.
Although I'm sure 80% of our general membership will be from Anaheim, we will have a large number of kids from other areas simply because of the fact that those areas don't provide Baseball with REAL BASEBALL RULES in their city. We will try to build 2 divisions per age group, regular League structure and a Select Structure (Travelball). Although we may travel a little from city to city to compete with other leagues (interlocking schedules) we are planning to be based in Anaheim.
We will not have "All-Stars" per se, but we will send teams from each age group to the USSSA Western World Series, or a comparable tournament sanctioning body event. We are continuing to come up with new ideas on how to make this leaue completely unique from other Leagues. This is going to be very interesting and different from anything you have been associated with before, I promise you that !!!!
We will have preferred vendors from which to purchase equipment, uniforms, etc. We will also offer professional coaches available for hire for group sessions or private one-on-one sessions. We will have Opening Day and Closing Day Ceremonies... and we have some different ideas on this.
We will have multiple divisions starting with:
FARM LEAGUE 3-4 year olds
ROOKIE LEAGUE 5-6 Year Olds
A LEAGUE 7-8 year olds
AA LEAGUE 9-10 year olds
AAA LEAGUE 11-12 year olds
THE BIGS 13-14 year olds
There will be a lot of things happening very fast as this League is in its growing phase as we speak. Let us know of any of your concerns or if you have any questions.
Thanks for being on board with us!!
Tim Sawyer, Founder
No Boundaries... Just Baseball !

GREAT BASEBALL QUOTES!!
Baseball was made for kids, and grown-ups only screw it up. ~Bob Lemon
No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference. ~Tommy Lasorda
I've come to the conclusion that the two most important things in life are good friends and a good bullpen. ~Bob Lemon, 1981
Baseball players are smarter than football players. How often do you see a baseball team penalized for too many men on the field? ~Jim Bouton, 1988
Every hitter likes fastballs, just like everybody likes ice cream. But you don't like it when someone's stuffing it into you by the gallon. That's what it feels like when Nolan Ryan's thrown balls by you. ~Reggie Jackson
Back then, my idol was Bugs Bunny, because I saw a cartoon of him playing ball - you know, the one where he plays every position himself with nobody else on the field but him? Now that I think of it, Bugs is still my idol. You have to love a ballplayer like that. ~Nomar Garciaparra
You gotta be a man to play baseball for a living, but you gotta have a lot of little boy in you, too. ~Roy Campanella
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. ~Rogers Hornsby
During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at bats a season. That means I played seven years without ever hitting the ball. ~Mickey Mantle, 1970
Sandy's fastball was so fast, some batters would start to swing as he was on his way to the mound. ~Jim Murray, on Sandy Koufax
I was such a dangerous hitter I even got intentional walks in batting practice. ~Casey Stengel, 1967
I became a good pitcher when I stopped trying to make them miss the ball and started trying to make them hit it. ~Sandy Koufax
Hitting is timing. Pitching is upsetting timing. ~Warren Spahn
Well, boys, it's a round ball and a round bat and you got to hit the ball square. ~Joe Schultz, 1969
Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good too. ~Greg, age 8
What are we at the park for except to win? I'd trip my mother. I'd help her up, brusher her off, tell her I'm sorry. But mother don't make it to third. ~Leo Durocher
