BangBros Championship Run Ends Early
August 27, 2010
Last night's game began with Heron's Wheels getting off to the hot start. They were propelled by a 4 run, first inning and the BangBros found it hard to catch up. The BangBros were able to cut the lead in half after R. Burza hit another Home Run with Small on base. The next inning the BangBros were able to add another run when K. Burza hit a sac fly to bring around Big E. There was no scoring again until the Heron's added 1 in the 5th, 2 in the 6th, and 1 more in the top of the 7th. BangBros were chasing 5 runs. Patty Mac got on base with one out and was knocked in by Lichman. Big E came up and was was called out on a close throw to 1st base. With 2 outs, Joe "Eagle Eye" Hinch came to the plate. He smoked one over the fence, which appeared to be fair, only to have the umpire call a foul. Diak went insane and was one comment away from being tossed. Eagle Eye eventually popped up to right field (who knew he could go to the right side!) and the game and series were over.
It was a good first season for the BangBros. They ended up with the 3rd overall ranking and fought through a poor end of the season to make it to the Championship. This team has a lot of character and will be a threat to dethrone Heron's next year.

Notes:
R. Burza continued his barrage against Fromberg, going 6 for 7 in the series (6 straight hits), with 2 Home Runs.
BangBros Fall 9-8 to Heron's Wheels
August 26, 2010
In a game that came down to the wire, the BangBros found themselves on the wrong side of the celebration. Going into the bottom of the 7th inning the BangBros had a 2 run lead and needed just 3 outs to hand Heron's Wheels their first loss of the season, along with taking the critical first game of the series. But Heron's managed to spoil that outcome. The bottom 2 batters in the order were able to get on base and turn the lineup over and before the blink of an eye Heron's had the bases loadaed with no outs. The number 2 batter hit a sac fly to right. The next batter walked and the bases were loaded with the winning run on second base. Their clean up guy came to the plate and hit a pop up into short RF that found space. The ball was thrown into home, but just a tad to late and the BangBros find themselves down in the series 0-1.
Today brings game 2 and the BangBros are the home team. They hope to get their sticks working the entire game and force a game 3.
Notes:
R. Burza - 4-4, HR, 2 RBI
BangBros to Play for the Championship
August 20, 2010
In yet another close game, the BangBros came out victorious and find themselves in the Championship round where they will face Heron's Wheels. The final game of the semi-finals was another low scoring affair and Big E was once again able to silence the big bats of the Crusaders. Both teams managed just 9 hits, but the BangBros had that one extra run to win the game 4-3. R. Burza, R. Hinch, P. McIntyre, and J. Lichman each had an RBI in the 3rd inning and that was all the BangBros would need. They had another solid game on the defensive side. In the last inning the Crusaders, down one, got a runner in scoring position with 2 outs, but the last batter of the game would hit a screaming line drive right at Lichman for the final out.
The BangBros will face the undefeated Heron's Wheels, who squeaked out a one run win against the BangBros in their last contest. But the BangBros are looking confident, and a regular season record does not mean anything in the playoffs. Come out and root on your favorite BangBros this Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (if necessary)!!
GO BANGBROS!!!
BangBros Even Series at 1-1
August 19, 2010
The return of Big E was a success as he held the Crusaders to just 4 runs in 7 innings of work. Bangbros kept within striking distance through the first three innings, and then made their move in the 4th and 5th putting up a 4 spot and 3 spot which proved to be all they needed behind good pitching and solid defense. Bangbros could have added even more runs but Big Lou was robbed of a hit by a great play from the Crusaders pitcher. Joe “Eagle Eye” Hinchliffe uses his Eagle Eye to earn key walk in crucial at bat. Pat “My mom taught you in Kindergarten” McIntyre played an excellent first base yesterday scooping balls like it was his job…wait that is his job. There must be something in the water in Canada because after Lichman returned from his trip he has been a spark for the Bangbros going 8 for 14 with 8 RBI’s in four games. Robbie Hinchliffe listens to younger broski and changes bats to provide key two run double which knocked in Smalls and Ryan Burza. Infielders Ryan Burza and Kev Burza baffled by their colleague T Hinch’s one long sock in the infield. See you Thursday for what should be a great game 3. Let’s Go BangBros!
BangBors Squander Lead and Lose Game 1
August 17, 2010
Bangbros jumped out to an early 6-0 lead over the Crusaders in the top of the first inning, but without their ace on the mound they gave 5 of those runs back to end the first inning leading 6-5. It was a relatively quiet second inning with Bangbros tacking on 1 run and Crusaders getting shut out. Then Crusaders kept pouring on the runs and the BangBros could not keep up and eventually dropped a tough one 16-11. The Bangbros will gladly welcome back their ace and arguably the best pitcher in the league, Big E, on Wednesday for a do or die game 2 situation.
Stand Out Players
Joe Hinchliffe 2-4, 2HRS, 5 RBI’s
Ryan Burza 4-4, 1HR, 1 RBI
BangBros Sweep Series Advance to Semifinals
August 11, 2010
After a lackluster first four innings, the BangBros flipped a switch and poured on 20 runs over the next three innings to dismantle PaddyWhacks 21-10 and advance to the semifinals in their inaugural season. Once the BangBros had the lead they never looked back. Ryan Burza had the Peco Power Play of the Day with his 3 run bases clearing double which sparked the Bangbros on to victory. The BangBros showed what kind of force they can be when they level their swings out. This might just have been the spark the BangBros needed to get them going in the playoffs. Not having the first round bye might actually have been the best thing that could have happened to the BangBros as these two extra games helped to work the kinks out. Next up a three game series with the second seeded Crusaders starting on Monday August 16, 2010 which just happens to be Dollar Dog night as well, so come out and enjoy.
BangBros Take Game 1
August 10, 2010
Robbie Hinchliffe smacked a 2 run dinger in the first inning. The score was knotted up at 3-3 after two innings of play. Then BangBros put up a 5 spot in the third inning to provide some breathing room. After a scoreless fourth, PaddyWhacks added two runs in the fifth to shrink the BangBros lead to 8-5. But BangBros responded with 2 insurance runs in the 6th inning to put the game out of reach especially with Big E throwing heat. PaddyWhacks did score 3 runs in the seventh but the game was never in doubt and the final score was 10-8 BangBros…..to quote Jonny Drama VICTORY!!!!! See you Tuesday for game 2.
BangBros lose 3rd straight!
August 4, 2010
Yesterday the BangBros took on the undefeated Heron's Wheels. And yesterday the BangBros lost their third game in a row. Fourth loss in 5 games. E held Heron's to 5 hits. Yet the BangBros still found a way to lose.
The BangBros limp into the playoffs, but the frustrating end to the regular season is now past. The BangBros will take on the familiar Paddy Whacks. The BangBors beat Paddy Whacks both times they played them this year, but the regular season has no place here. The BangBros have been able to score runs in the first inning, but after that, it has been silent. Will they be able to string several hits together? Who will step up and provide the spark that the team needs? Game 1 is Monday.
LET'S GO BANG!
BangBros fall to Those Guys in extra innings
August 3, 2010
The BangBros fall once again in extra innings. The game started off well for the BangBros, who managed to score their first 5 batters. Patty Mc hit his team leading 6th home run to lead the charge. But once again the bats of the BangBros would fall silent and they would manage just 1 hit in the next 4 innings. In the 6th inning the BangBros first 2 batters recorded outs. A two out rally ensued, and the BangBros were able to tie the game up. The 7th inning yielded no runs for either team, and the BangBros went down 1-2-3. In the 8th, Those Guys were able to score 3 runs. The BangBros had one last chance, but went down in order once again. The BangBros had several innings where they could not even get a runner on base.
It is hard to think that a team like the BangBros are having trouble getting hits, but that is the case right now. All hopes of a playoff bye are pretty much out the window. They would need to beat Heron's tonight, which if they did would be Heron's first loss of the season. But then they would need Heron's to beat the Crusaders on Thursday, which Heron's would not really need to play because they already have the first round bye locked up. Here's hoping the BangBros can get those bats going for an entire game.
BangBros still looking for bats.
July 29, 2010
You won't win many games when you can't base runners. Big E held the Crusaders to just 2 runs through the first 5 innings, but the BangBros could not get anything going offensively. In the bottom of the 6th, Crusaders tagged on 5 more runs, which effectively put the game out of reach. The lone highlight was Patty Mc's Home Run. He actually managed to leg this one out.
The BangBros made it difficult to clinch a bye. The next 2 games are important for the BangBros to win, so hopefully they can find their offensive game over the weekend.
BangBros BIG first inning carried them to Victory
July 28, 2010
The BangBros had a huge first inning. Ten of the elven batters scored a run in the first inning. The team was lead once again by the Home Run. Big E and Patty Mc went back to back, and Diak came in to hit a 3 run banger of his own. The BangBros managed to score one more run in the 2nd inning before a line drive by Joe Lichman knocked Paddy Whack's Joe Roshinko out of the pitching position (he is ok). Frank Miller came in for PWs and shut the BangBros out. The Bros managed only 2 hits the rest of the game. Luckily for the BangBros, Paddy Whacks was only able to score 7 runs and the BangBros improved their record to 8-1.
The BangBros take on the Crusaders Thursday night, in a game that could decide a first round bye. If the BangBros can defeat Crusaders, the bye belongs to them. If not, there will be other factors that will decide the outcome. The BangBros need to bring their A game and must hit in the later innings to win this game.

Notes:
K. Burza shaved his mustache and lost all skill. Has vowed to regrow it.
BangBros squeak by Nick's
July 23, 2010
On paper it looked like the BangBros should have wiped the floor with Nick's Roast Beef. The winless Nick's came into the game with an 0-8 record. For the second game in a row, the BangBros left runners in scoring position courtesy of the popup. But, they did just enough to win the game. E pitched a great game, not letting Nick's make solid contact. The best at-bat of the game goes to Pat McIntrye, who would not give in to Nick's Dave Dymond. Pat fouled one ball after the other, eventually forcing Dymond to throw a pitch that he could turn on and send over the fence for a Homerun. K. Burza used the power of the stache once again and sent a ball off the very top corner of the fence in LCF for a triple. The stache may have also helped Burza on the defensive side as well. In the top of the 7th the leadoff batter hit a ground ball that took a bad hop and was heading right for K.Burza's face. The mustache took the brunt of the hit and the ball glanced off his eyebrow leaving no visible damage. K. Burza made the next two plays at third while holding the runner at 2nd. Tom Hinch finished off the game with an easy ground ball.

Notes:
P. MicIntyre - 3 for 3 with Homerun
T. Hinch - 2 for 2 with a walk, RBI
Stikeout Victims - Maertzig and E (owe a pitcher each at next O'Club outing).
Bats Disappear AS DOES Perfect Record in Extra Inning Loss.
July 20, 2010
The game started out with BangBros taking a 4-2 first inning lead. They scratched out a few more runs but never really got any momentum going. Kev Burza’s solo jackshot looked like it was going to spark the BangBros on to another easy victory but the bats stayed silent the rest of the game. The game was deadlocked at 7-7. BangBros Defense kept them in the game with two nice double plays to prevent the Renegades from scoring, but could not muster any runs themselves as it was one pop out after the other. The BangBros eventually ran out of gas when the Renegades tacked on 4 runs in the 9th inning to hand the BangBros their first loss in franchise history. Some critics are saying that the BangBros are a bunch of no talent hacks but they will look to prove their critics wrong as they look to regain their swagger and winning ways when they host Nick’s Roast Beef Thursday night at 5:15pm.
Another Dominating Performance
July 13, 2010
Is a game recap even necessary? The game basically went
like this: walk, walk, walk walk, error hit, base hit another walk, and
another hit. BangBros keep things rolling with a 20-5 victory. Tom
Hinchliffe was a one man show knocking in 6 runs and also earning the
'W' on the mound. The cake walk part of the schedule is now over and
the next game (weather permitting) is against the only other undefeated
team Heron's Wheels. Someone's 0 must go! Let's go BangBros!
This Just In...BangBros have hit ANOTHER Homerun!!!
July 8, 2010
Even though BangBros were down 8 runs after the top half of the first inning, the team never once panicked. The team is full of confidence especially with the bats and especially on the small field! The team put on a show like it was Homerun Derby by putting 7 over the fence (2 by Joe Hinchliffe, 2 by Big E, 2 by Pat McIntyre, 1 by Rob Hinchliffe) and Cousin Joe Lichman adding one of his own the old fashion way by running (I think you call that running) out a HR. Every single person on the team had a hit and scored a run. The team also had countless doubles and a triple as well as saw Big Lou record his first official hit, his first RBI, and get his first putout in RF. The game came to an end after a Big E homerun put BangBros up 28-13. Another dominating performance but next we have to do the same on the big field.
BangBros Overcome Mistake Filled Game to Remain Undefeated
June 30, 2010
Someone once told me there are no pictures in the box score. Granted he was talking about banging ugly chicks and a notch on the belt is a notch on the belt at the end of the day. Obviously the reference is derived from baseball and a 'W' in the Win column is all that matters. BangBros had one bad inning... one REALLY bad inning... but other than that the defense held strong. Paddy Whacks defense was not any better and BangBros capitalized. After tying the game in the last inning, BangBros had the bases loaded with no outs. Paddy Whacks were able to record two outs and BangBros were in danger of leaving the winning run stranded at 3rd. That's when Tom Hinchliffe stepped up to the plate and hit a SCORCHER to SS. Okay maybe it was more of a dribbler than a rocket but hey, there's no pictures in the box score! Just like the first game of the year against Varsity the team showed character by coming back from behind to win in the last inning. Now let's get back to blowing teams away.
No Mercy for the G-Men
June 24, 2010
In another show of dominance, the 3-0 BangBros dismantled the G-Men, 19-2. The BangBros had another solid first inning scoring 6 runs and piled on the runs inning after inning. The only inning they did not score was the 6th. Big E pitched another gem allowing only 2 runs on a botched play in the OF. The BangBros have a rematch against an injured riddled Those Guys, so hopefully they can continue their winning streak.
BangBros cream Those Guys
June 15, 2010
In their second game, the Bang Bros were once again coached by Paul Diak. He led the BangBros to their second consecutive victory in a 5 inning, 19-5, blow out. The BangBros used the home run ball to their advantage, hitting 6 bombs in just 5 innings. The BangBros started off with an 11 run first inning barage and didn't look back. E held Those Guys and check, and they never really made a game of it. The BangBros showed their offensive dominance and there is a good chance we will be seeing more of that as the season continues.
BangBros win Franchise Debut!
June 10, 2010
In their first game of existince, the BangBros battled against Varsity. This was not a pretty game and field conditions were poor at best. With the help of a few BB errors, Varisty took an early lead. The BangBros could not get anything going offensively, that is until their backs were against the wall. In the last inning the BangBros put together a comeback in the top of the 7th and took the lead. They were able to hold off Varsity in the bottom of the inning to win the first game of the season.
