Blues 14U Volunteer to HELP
The Bayside Blues 14U team believes in returning something back to our community. In January and February, the ladies are spending weekends and holidays at the HELP Association in Owings, Maryland, sorting donated items, cleaning up, shelving goods, etc., etc.
The Blues organization believes that there is more to our organization than just great softball -- we also believe that as members of our communities we are obligated to volunteer our efforts. The HELP Association in turn provides financial support to groups in its own community. Sounds like a win/win! Good job, Blues.
Blues Cheer On Pinbusters Special Olympics Bowling
On Saturday, December 6, 2008, the Blues 14U team members volunteered their time to cheer for the Special Olympics Pinbusters bowling league at Calvert Bowl.
The Blues program is not just about softball. We emphasize academics, community, and character building, as well as the proper way to field a grounder. It's not easy going outside our comfort zone, but the athletes really enjoyed having the team all there! Just your presence made a significant difference.
Many of the athletes, parents and the director thanked us profusely for coming. It's important to realize that we are not all created the same and that even the slightest act of kindness (just showing up, offering a smile, sharing a laugh, or giving a high five) can make a significant difference in one's life ... your parents and your coaches are proud of each of you for giving back.
The bowlers loved the posters and plan to laminate them and use them in the future! So...your artwork lives on.
The Bayside Blues
The Bayside Blues girls fastpitch organization is based in southern Maryland, and draws players from throughout the region.
This website is dedicated to our 14 and under team for the 2009 season. The Blues offer quality, competitive softball and a great learning environment.
The Bayside Blues organization fields high-calibre girls softball teams from ages nine through eighteen. The program has sent many young women on to high school softball, and over 100 on to college softball. We are focused on making our players well-rounded, with a strong emphasis on academics and sportsmanship, beyond athletic excellence.

Bayside Blues Mission Statement
We are committed to becoming fundamentally sound softball players. We will challenge ourselves every day to improve, both as athletes and as individuals. We will always strive to be the best at whatever we do. We understand the definition of team, and will always act as one. We will be confident and determined. We will be humble in victory and in defeat. We will constantly ask ourselves ... how high? There are three types of athletes: Winners, Losers, and Champions. We know for which we strive.
