Welcome to the Home of

Boyertown Optimist Football

The primary mission of the Boyertown Optimist Youth Football Program is to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of the community. To develop Optimism in all student-athletes grades K thru 6th for their growth not only as football players but also as young citizens within our community. This will be accomplished by improving their life skills as well as their football abilities. All participants will be afforded the opportunity to improve these life skills through education, friendship, teamwork, and football. The purpose of this program is to provide safe, supervised football activities for the youth within the Boyertown Area School District. The objectives shall be the following:
    - To build healthy bodies and minds
    - To teach the foundation of  Optimism

    - To stimulate community interest in football and stress parental involvement thru volunteerism
    - To have fun
    - To accomplish these things with the welfare of the children first and foremost, without adult ambition for personal glory

Boy, What a difference a year can make. After winning a Super Bowl, James Develin was back in the gym training hard for the 2015 season.  In Friday's preseason game vs. the Carolina Panthers,James broke his right fibula. The Patriots put him on injured reserve, which effectively ends his 2015 season. Let's keep his recovery in our thoughts and prayers. We KNOW he will be back stronger in 2016. Get well soon James.
