BELMONT PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
2016 SPRING YOUTH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE INFORMATION
A. AGE GROUPS:
Diggers – cannot turn 12 before Sept 1, 2015 and must be 9 by Sept 1, 2015.
Spikers – cannot turn 16 before Sept 1, 2015.
A. The Recreation Dept will need a volunteer coach for each team formed. If you are interested in coaching please let us know.
B. There will be a COACHES ONLY meeting on Thursday February 18 at 6pm at the recreation dept.
A. A player shall not wear anything that is dangerous to another player
B. The players must wear non marking sneakers.
C. Knee pads are required and are now included with registration fee.
A. Practices will be held at the Belmont Middle School Gym. Games could be played at Belmont Middle, Mt Holly, Lowell, Cramerton, and the Bradley Center.
B. Practice/Draft will be on Thursday March 10th at Belmont Middle School Gym. The Diggers will start at 6pm and the Spikers at 7pm.
C. Teams will be divided up at the first practice. Practice/Games will start as early as 6pm and will normally be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Belmont Middle School Gym. Other locations may be on different days. Once games start, practices may vary as schedule permits.
D. Games may begin the week of March 29.
A. The registration fee covers the players’ shirt & knee pads, scorekeepers, gym maintenance, accessories, and equipment cost. The fee DOES NOT include shorts, a trophy or banquet.
B. The registration fee is $50 in-city and $75 out-of-city.
C. No refund will be given after the registration date has expired. If a player drops out after this point, all items will be forfeited.
A. Picture Button Sales: These can be purchased from the recreation department approximately a week after pictures have been taken. The cost of the button will be 2 for $5. We will only have buttons for players that take individual pictures on picture day.
B. T-shirt sales: Will be available to order at the draft and 1st practice. T-shirts are for parents and/or sibling (the players shirt is included with the registration fee). This will be a t-shirt in the same color as your child’s team with the team logo. The cost of the t-shirts will be $10 for YS-AXL, $12 for XXL, and $13 for XXXL(if available).
Please help us keep the facilities clean by picking up trash after the practices and games.
