Congratulations.. 16U Boys Team, Places 2nd in AAU Super Regional in Lakewood, New Jersey... Great total team effort this weekend by ALL. With the absence of Nana Fouland (Berks Catholic) - Alex Barrett (Boyertown High), Javon Willet (Governor Mifflin) and Luis Rosairo (Muhlenberg) play huge roles on the boards to help lead the team into the Championship Game Sunday. Team defense was on lock down, Quidon Stinson (Muhlenberg High), Tubby Afre and Tommy Ferguson (Berks Catholic), Jared Lunkanitz (Governor Mifflin) and Tristain Lopez set the tone that spread all weekend. Seth Stankiewicz (Berks Catholic) and RiaShaun (Reading High) lead the way scoring throughout the entire tournament in the Semi Finals dropping together over 30pts. Tystin Ovid (Muhlenberg High) bringing that "ACTION" played tough all weekend on both sides of the court. The team earns a BID to Division 1 AAU Nationals this summer. Next weekend the team heads to Allentown Area. GOOD LUCK
Welcome Berks County Ballers to the 2012 Season
Welcome. Berks County Ballers started in 2010 with a goal in mind to keep boys and girls playing the game of basketball at the AAU and A.F.B.E levels. In 2010 we took our 7th grade boys team to our 1st Nationals in West Virginia, sponsored by Eastbay. Coming in 2nd place by only 1pt. Last year the 8th grade boys team qualified for Nationals in Virginia Beach at the Boo William's Center, placed 12th out of over 70 teams. As we enter into the 2012 AAU/ A.F.B.E season we are looking took qualify for Nationals in Chicago, Ills with our 16u boys team. This year the older teams will travel to Pittsburgh, Allentown, New Jersey, Philadelphia and beyond. We are also excited to have boys teams in 10u,13u and 14u. And we look forward to growing the girls program as well. As the 2012 Berks County High School Playoffs came to a end, we were proud to have 8 current and former boys playing in County Playoffs and 5 girls playing for their high school teams. Berks County Ballers had 9 boys make their high school JV teams, 4 of them starting JV as Freshmen and 4 of them also were brought up to the varsity as Freshmen too. As you can see it is our commitment as coaches to have our players play at the highest level during the AAU season. We enter all our teams in mostly AAU Super or Regional Qualifies, and use the local circuit A.F.B.E for mainly are younger groups. In the end we are looking to give all players the chance to travel outside of Berks County to showcase their skills and continue their goals of playing basketball at the college level D1,2 or 3. We embrace team spirit, team play and share the idea that the best player on any team is ALWAYS the "OPEN MAN". We enforce that school and the players grades come first, and once again are so proud of the fact that among the Boys 16u team many of our players are HONOR STUDENTS FIRST, BASKETBALL PLAYERS SECOND. In closing the coaches, the players, the teams and the parents of the Berks County Ballers look forward to another great season and fun. PLAY HARD, PRACTICE EVEN HARDER.
Thank You, Coach Stankiewicz Coach Stinson
Berks County Ballers is an AAU Boys/Girls Basketball team representing players from all over Berks County, Pa. Our mission is to pull together a group of young players that play basketball at a high level and place them on a team that will compete at the AAU/AFBE levels locally, regionally and nationally. Berks County Ballers is a non-profit program. All coaches are volunteers and have been coaching at the local levels as well as the AAU/AFBE levels. As the program grows, the goal is to enter our teams in quality tournaments so the players get noticed and continue to play at a higher level. Because this is the second year for BC Ballers we are asking parents to help in many ways throughout the season such as carpooling to games, score keeping, fundraising, etc.
The staff would like to thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to our second season as BERKS COUNTY BALLERS.
