Omagh United 2-3 Bourneview
May 1, 2010 —
Bourneview rounded off the 2009/10 season in fine style with a narrow win over Omagh United on Saturday in an entertaining game at Carnoney Road.
It was the visitors who enjoyed the better of the early exchanges, and only profligacy in front of goal prevented Bourneview from taking the lead. Mark Boyce fired over when well placed, and was denied once again by a fine one-on-one stop from the Omagh goalkeeper. Chris Mackle also came close for Robbie Anderson's men, his delicate lob seemed to have provided the perfect climax to an excellent team move, but the effort was directed the wrong side of the Omagh far post.
Bourneview did gain the lead early in the second half, Dean Smyth's freekick from twenty-five yards taking a deflection off the defensive wall and creeping in at the far post. Shortly afterward the home side were reduced to ten men following a headbutt by their captain on Boyce. To add insult to injury, Bourneview immediately doubled their advantage, McCann's mishit cross deceiving the Omagh goalkeeper to find the back of the net.
Omagh reduced the arrears with ten minutes remaining, before Boyce missed a gilt-edged opportunity from the penalty spot to restore Bourneview's two-goal cushion, his effort well saved by the goalkeeper. The visitors did however double their advantage shortly afterward when Alan Duddy coolly finished on his first appearance since dislocating his shoulder before Christmas. Omagh rounded off the scoring in injury time with a consolation effort.
Best on the day for Bourneview were Duddy and Gary Hill, Hill making his first start for the club's first eleven since August.

Ballymacash Rangers 4-7 Bourneview
April 10, 2010 —
A Man-of-the-Match performance from Philip Birnie helped Bourneview to a league double over Ballymacash Rangers on Saturday, the centre forward helping himself to five goals in a 7-4 victory for the visitors.
The game had an end-of-season feeling about it, with Bourneview having little left to play for other than achieving as high a final position as possible in Intermediate A. Ballymacash on the other hand were anxious for all three points in their battle against the drop to Mid-Ulster football's second tier, and started the game brightly. Against the run of play Bourneview took the lead, Birnie firing home from the edge of the penalty area.
Ballymacash leveled matters after a defensive slip, but Bourneview moved back into the lead when Mark Boyce headed home a freekick from dead ball specialist Chris Mackle. Birnie added his second of the afternoon shortly afterward, and completed a first half hat-trick with a fine individual effort. Robert Potts rounded off the scoring in the first period with arguably the goal of the afternoon, a sublime chip over the stranded goalkeeper.
Ballymacash reduced arrears after five minutes of the second half, only for Birnie to immediately restore Bourneview's four goal cushion. With the game seemingly won, the visitors dropped their concentration, allowing the Lisburn men back into the game with a converted penalty and fine strike from eighteen yards, before Birnie's fifth of the afternoon snuffed out any possibility of a comeback.

Bourneview 2-1Warrenpoint Town
March 27, 2010 —
Bourneview condemned Mid-Ulster Intermediate A leaders Warrenpoint Town to their first league defeat of the season on Saturday with a well earned 2-1 victory at Pepperton Park.
In heavy conditions, it was the border side who had the better of the early exchanges, and they deservedly took the lead after fifteen minutes, Simon O’Hare volleying in from the edge of the penalty area.
Bourneview worked their way back into contention, but with little penetration in the final third went into the half-time interval still training by the solitary goal.
The home side’s perseverance was finally rewarded after seventy minutes, Chris Mackle’s pinpoint accurate corner kick finding Dean Smith, the on-loan midfielder heading home from six yards. Mackle was again the provider for Bourneview’s winner five minutes later, a disputed corner powered into the net by Mark Boyce.
Warrenpoint pressed for an equaliser in the remaining quarter of an hour, with Andrew Neill in the home goal tipping a long range effort over the bar, and ‘View skipper Scott Walker turning an effort off the line. The home defence stood firm however, well marshalled by Robert Murdock and veteran Mark Neill, to give Bourneview all three points.

Bourneview 5-0 Ballymacash Rangers
March 6, 2010 —
Bourneview recorded their second successive league win over a Lisburn side on Saturday, easing to victory over Ballymacash Rangers by a 5-0 scoreline.
Philip Birnie opened proceedings with his third goal in as many games, tapping home within the openin ten minutes after Alan Wells' initial effort was parried by the Ballymacash goalkeeper. Mark Boyce doubled the home side's advantage with a headed effort after half an hour, and Wells made it three just before the interval, confidently finishing after a pin-point through ball from Dean Smith.
Scott Walker added Bourneview's fourth with five minutes of the second half played, a well placed effort from twelve yards, and Wells completed his brace with the goal of the day, a spectacular volley after good work from Chris Mackle on the left flank.
The home side had chances to increase their advantage, Wells denied his hat-trick only by a magnificent save, and substitute Richard Proctor also coming close, but the final scoreline still represented their biggest victory of the season. Best on the day was Neil Brown, an assured performance at left back helping the defence to a clean sheet.

Bourneview 4-2 Lower Maze
February 20, 2010 —
Bourneview completed a league double over Lisburn side Lower Maze on Saturday, but were pushed all the way by a visiting team that led on two occasions before eventually succumbing to second half pressure.
Lower Maze started the better of the two sides, and were ahead after a quarter of an hour when a missed defensive header allowed Thomas Neill to coolly finish. Bourneview struck back through a fine individual Philip Birnie effort, but Lower Maze regained the lead in freak fashion when Andrew Neill's clearance struck namesake Thomas and rebounded into the home goal. Parity however was quickly restored once more, as Francis McCann's chipped effort left the scores level at the break.
Only some fine goalkeeping kept the home side at bay in the second period, but Bourneview finally moved into the lead with twenty-five minutes remaining, McCann left with the simplest of tap-ins after Robert Murdoch's effort was parried. Chris Mackle put the result beyond doubt in the final five minutes, confidently rounding the goalkeeper before slotting home.

It was a fine day all round for the club, as the Reserve side eased past Tandragee Rovers Reserves, also by a 4-2 scoreline.
Bourneview 1-1 Blackers Mill
February 13, 2010 —
Derby rivals Bourneview and Blackers Mill shared the spoils in this Intermediate A clash at Pepperton Park. A Philip Birnie strike in the opening ten minutes suggested the home side would make short work of their opponents. However, Brian Moore's visitors fought back, and were unfortunate not be level at the break.
Within five minutes of the restart however, parity was restored with an unmarked header. Bourneview were spurred into action by this setback, and MArk Boyce came close to restoring their lead when his freekick crashed off the crossbar, with Francis McCann unable to convert the rebound. With full time approaching, Gareth Stewart was close to snatching the victory for the Mill men, but his effort was saved by Neill in the home goal.

Club Announcements
January 20, 2010 —
All at Bourneview send their best wishes to midfielder Shane McGeown following his recent admission to hospital. Shane is best known at Pepperton Park for almost singlehandedly defeating Fivemiletown United in the final game of last season, a victory that ultimately ensured Bourneview's survival in Intermediate A. We look forward to having Shane back in a Bourneview shirt as soon as possible.
In happier news, congratulations go out to first team player/assistant manager Mark Neill following the recent announcement of his engagement. Mark becomes the third 'View first teamer to take the engagement plunge in the last year, with Ryan Matchett and Andrew Neill having already decided that they're too happy with life at the moment!
