North Carolina State basketball coach Jim Valvano gave a speach about ordinary and extra-ordinary players. He talked about how some of us are truly blessed athletically: he called out some names that few of us would recognize, but he talked about the likes of Alex Rodriguez and A.J. Cole's and Yordi Cabrera of the world who have been blessed with remarkable talent and are "extr-ordinary" baseball players. What about the rest of us? Jimmy V. said that with the four D's:

DESIRE, DEDICATION, DETERMINATION and DESCIPLINE,

ordinary people can accomplish "extra-ordinary things".
