2009 Local Winter Training Facilities

List of local Baseball Training Facilities
It’s that time of year for your baseball player to start thinking about winter training for the 2010 season

It’s that time of year for your baseball player to start thinking about winter training for the 2010 season. Winter baseball camps are forming at local training facilities so we have compiled a list of those offering their services. Most offer batting/pitching cages while others also offer fielding areas to rent. Some have personalized instruction besides their winter camps.

What Winter camp should you pick? Just like the classroom where you get the most coaches per number of players. Also you want a well rounded camp, one that touches on all aspects of the game. Besides repetitions you want fundamentals and drills that you can use in the spring.

If you are going to use the facility for your team or personal use, be aware that cage rentals vary widely. You must be specific if you want the pitching machine or not. The machine is almost always extra. For instance, at 3-2 Count to rent the cage and machine is $1/min. At both Frozen Ropes, you will be charged $5 to $10 extra per 1/2 or 1 hr. Rates are from $20 per 1/2 hr to $60 per hour. You should call ahead of time to see if the cages are available and what is the fee.

Concerning instructors, this is an individual choice and not all instructions are the same. You might go through 2 or 3 instructors before you and your BB player feel comfortable with one. Rates here again vary widely from a low of $20 per half hour to a high of $55 per half hour.

If you are unsure as to what facility or instructor to use, contact your team manager or player agent for recommendations. You can also email me at rytel@yahoo.com and I will try to help you find one.

Baseball Instructors, if you would like to have your name posted on our web site please email me, rytel@yahoo.com.
