13th Annual HomeTeam Brite 3 Golf Outing!

May 29, 2009 - 08:00 AM Another great day for the Brite 3. The day was filled with fun-golf and a large rain shower which delayed the afternoon round by an hour. The day was a big success and we would like to thank our sponsors- Deloitte, Members 1st along with all of our other sponsors. Please take a look at the 2009 photos and look for the catch photos. Thanks to our special guests from PSU and an extra thanks to Daryll Clark for throwing the pass to TP which got the night off to a great start.

For the past twelve years, friends of the Brightbill family have been supporting the "Brite 3" Memorial Golf Outing. The "Brite 3" Golf Outing was set up in the memory of Matthew D. Brightbill. Although, Matt lost his life in a 1995 traffic accident, his spirit lives on.

Why is this event called the "brite 3"? Simple, to his HomeTeam friends, Matt's nickname was "brite" short for Brightbill. The number 3 was his favorite number. He wore this number in sports growing up.

So what's the connection to Penn State and North Carolina? Those that know Matt will tell you that for college football, there was no other college then Penn State and Happy Valley. And for college basketball there was no place like North Carolina and Tarheel Country. Some believe he would bleed Navy and White during the fall and Baby Blue during the winter months.

Matthew's Life
Born on January 26, 1970, Matthew's life affected more people in the short time that he was on earth then most men or women will in a normal life time. Matthew's life was cut short by a tragic car accident in 1995. Just 25, Matthew left behind a caring father, loving mother and adoring brother and sister. Matthew was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School and Shippensburg University. Matthew was on the track to have success within his father's business(Ritter Brothers). Matthew express great joy and pride when he talked about the construction and technology field. Always one to have ideas in improving the industry, Matthew was to be a shining star in this field.

Of Matthew it was once said "that he was the type of man that you would want your daughter to marry". Sincere, kind, humorous, loving, and one that would give you the shirt off his back, the loss of Matthew was not only a loss to his family and friends, but to this world.
