JV THUNDER DEFEAT VIKINGS TO ADVANCE TO THE SUPER BOWL!
The Thunder found itself in a grudge match against a very familiar opponent for the 3rd straight year, having faced the Vikings in 2007 and 2008 with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. This game proved to be a nailbiter as both defenses shined and failed to yiled much on the evening going into halftime tied 0-0. After having a TD negated by a holding call, Buhach used a methodic approach, pounding the ball inside the Viking 10 yard line. Justin Stefani would score on a 7-yard TD run and Darius Villareal's PAT kick proved to be the difference in an 8-6 win.

Buhach (12-0) advances to Super Bowl 23 to face the undefeated Modesto Broncos (12-0) in Cen-Cal's first Super Bowl match-up between undefeated teams. Game time is 5:00pm at Atwater HS. We are sitting on the visitor side. We urge all members of the Thunder Family (Rookie, Peewee, Varsity) to come out and support the kids in their biggest game of the season!!!!

It's gonna be a BLACKOUT! Wear your Black! Hoodies, Pants... shoes... hats!!! everything!!! Also be sure to bring your airhorns, noisemakers... cowbells... Special signs as well!!!!!!! Let's show our THUNDER PRIDE!!!!! We will see you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Thunder defense finished strong, as Kevin Kelleher intercepted a pass and sprinted 65 yards for an apparent TD, however the TD was negated by penalty. A last second goal line stand at the Thunder 2-yard line as time expired sealed the deal. Kelleher finished with over 100 yard rushing while Levesque finished with 80 yards on the ground. "Overall, I enjoyed their performance," said Coach Keith Ducey. "We had some silly penalties and saw some other things we need to work on. We have to play solid mistake free football in order to compete against the Turlock 49ers next week."

The Thunder JV scored early and often against a talent Bears JV squad on its way to a 42-0 win. Kamare Bailey, Ryan Garrett, Aundre Sherman & Roy Gutierrez all scored for the Thunder. The Thunder defense was impressive allow very little to the Bears while providing some crushing hits throughout the day.
