Mite ADM Policy for 2011-2012

For the most part, any 2003 birth year player that has played on a mite (full ice) team for Butler Valley in 2010-2011 has the option of moving up to the squirt level for the 2011-2012 season. Butler Valley developmental players will be given consideration as well. A 2003 mite playing up cannot displace a 2001/2002 squirt. A number of factors will be used to make the decision. Initial placement will be made during tryouts (as always). All decisions will be made by the Coaching Director and Board. At this point, there are no provisions for 2004s to play squirts.

Mission

The Butler Valley Youth Hockey Association (BVYHA) is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the growth of ice hockey in an environment that stresses good sportsmanship, teamwork and fun. The organization provides instruction to boys and girls of all skill levels through the Butler Valley Dawgs Hockey Program. The Butler Valley Youth Hockey Association is a proud member of the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League (PAHL), the Mid American Hockey Association (MIDAM) and the USA Hockey Association. The Butler Valley Youth Hockey Association has provided many area youth with a memorable hockey experience since 1972.

Executive Board of Directors

The Butler Valley Youth Hockey Association is run by volunteers nominated from its membership to serve two-year terms on the Executive Board of Directors through an open election process. Members holding these positions vote on matters affecting the association: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Past President, Director of Coaching, and Director of Public Relations. The BVYHA Executive Board of Directors may appoint other volunteers from the membership to serve non-voting positions. Volunteers serving on the BVYHA Board of Directors must be certified through the MIDAM Background Screening process.
