Congratulations managers on being approved for 2013 BYA Cal Ripken All Star Managers!!!
12's - Peter Deely 11's - Steve Bostram 10's - Will Judge 9's - Scott Fillion
I have changed the eligibility rules for this year, so please read this carefully. (Email me with questions) Every year, there is the question of "playing up". In an effort to be more competitive across all age groups, I have changed the "playing up" rules…
A player MUST try out at his age group first. If he is chosen for that team, he MUST play on that team and will no longer eligible to "play up".
If the player is not chosen for the team at his age group, He will be eligible to be "called up" by the manager of the older age group. (within his league)
8 yr old rookie player are eligible to try out for the 9yr old team.
In an effort to address any concerns & answer your questions regarding the new policy I will be making myself available at 5:00 on Saturday (prior to tryouts) in front of the snack shack. Hopefully I can answer all of your questions/concerns prior to the start of try outs at 5:30.

Get Your Calendar Tickets In!
Get your Calendar Entries in to the Concession Stand. The drawings start Monday.
2013 Grip N Rip Volunteers Needed
BYA is once again sponsoring the Grip N Rip Softball Tournament on June 21, 22, and 23rd. It's our biggest ever! There will be 30 Teams from around the State playing 67 games in just three days!
This is a great opportunity for BYA to showcase our organization, and also raise revenue in the Concession Stand.
However, with all of these teams and games, there's a lot of work involved to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. We have a variety of jobs that need to be done, from working in the Concession Stand to scoring games.
Is it possible for you to give us just a couple of hours of your time? You can sign up easily here or contact Annette Call, the Volunteer Coordinator.

Help Us Earn a $2,500 Grant from Liberty Mutual Insurance!
Liberty Mutual Insurance is awarding $2,500 Community Grants as part of its Responsible Sports program championing and celebrating responsibility in youth sports.
Here's how it works:
Every person who completes the online Responsible Coaching or Responsible Sport Parenting course and 10-question Quiz earns one point. The fifteen (15) organizations around the country that get the most points by May 31st will earn a $2,500 Grant. So please take a few moments and complete the Quiz now.
Since we'll only be competing against organizations of similar size (three separate divisions), we have a great chance to win! Of course, the more people we get to read the Guide and take the Quiz, the better our chance of earning a Community Grant.
Let's all work together - for the kids, and for the $2,500 Grant. Just think of the ways this Grant could help us - equipment, uniforms, travel, practice field time - you name it! Get started now by going to www.responsiblesports.com/programs/grant.
FYI: When you go to add the credit to BYA, it's seems easier to find us by searching by ZIP CODE (03825) rather than by name.
Thank you for your support!
Calling All Bakers!
BYA is starting a special fund drive to improve our restrooms. Each Saturday we'll be holding a special Bake Sale. You can help by dropping off any type of baked good that we can sell on Saturday morning.
Thanks again for your support of BYA.
