2011 Canes Baseball Start Fast
The Canes got off to a fast start by beating the 18u Ohio Reds 10-5 on Sunday September 12th, The Canes were led on the mound by Tanner Green who threw 2 shutout innings and offensivelly by Luke Whalen and Alex Crabtree both who were 2-2 and Dylan James had 2 RBI's. The Canes have a doubleheader sunday September 19th at 3 pm against Cincinnati Sting and at 515 vs Tri-State Bandits!
2011 Canes Tryouts 17u Canes Baseball announced there tryouts for their 2011 team tryouts. Which will occur Sunday August 8th, 2010 at 2 pm. The Canes field a team in the 17u Southwest Ohio National League and Mid-America Sandlott Super League.
Canes Baseball just concluded a successful season: Finishing 3rd at Queen City Classic Finishing 4th at Irish Elite Finishing 3rd at Mickey Mantle Easter Regional Championships
The tryouts will be held Sunday August 8th at their new home field for the team, Athletes in Action, located 1197 S. Detroit Street, Xenia, Ohio 45385 The tryout registration will begin at 1:30 PM and tryouts will start promptly at 2:00 PM. The tryout session will last until 4 pm with individual player evaluations performed by Canes Baseball coaches. We are seeking superior level players seeking a chance to showcase their abilities and advance into college-level-baseball.
The 2011 Canes Baseball team will participate in the Sandlott world series,Best of the midwest, Buckeye Elite and Queen City Classic and more national caliber tournaments and showcase events.
A 50-60 game schedule will begin in may and continue through July. The team practices at an indoor facility lets play ball and outdoor at Athletes in Action.
The Canes are coached by Doug Adams (10 year vetern) and assisted by pitching coach Alan Holmberg(30 year vetern) This team offers competitive baseball and no parent coaches.

Canes Finish Season
The Patterson Park Canes finished strong winning there last two games, Run ruling the Huntington Hounds and beating the brownlee lookouts 6 to 0. The Canes had a good season, with a second place finish at the cobras wood bat, co-champs of the Mid-America Sandlott Super league, wins over some good competition. For the Canes who are leaving. I love everyone of you, ill miss you like crazy and ill always be here for you. COACH DOUG
Canes take runner-up at Cobras Wood Bat
The Patterson Park Canes went to the Cobras Wood bat classic this weekend and had a very strong performance. In the first game of Pool Play the Canes took on the Dayton Hustle, Clay Davidson had a big performance. Clay threw all 7 innings allowing one run and hit a 2 run homer, in the 2-1 win. Then On saturday the Canes recieved a forfeit win over the Butler County Hornets, then later on Saturday the Canes had to take on the Columbus Cobras. The Cobras controlled much of the game but going to the bottom of the 7th the Cobras had a 4-0 lead. The Canes went on to score 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th, the last 3 coming on a Clay Davidson double with the bases loaded to win the game when Nick McGill scored from first. Tyler Huffman and Tyler Olszewski both pitched really well in the game wtih Olszewski gettting the win. Then on Sunday in the semifinal the Canes had to take on the Middie Pride, Taylor Neal started for the Canes and struggled early giving up 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st but settled down to go 2 2/3 innings before giving the ball to Tyler Olszewski who went 4 1/3 innings scoreless innings matching zeros with Austin Downing. The Canes scored 3 innings in the top of the second and one in the top of the 3rd for the 4-3 win. In the championship game the Canes had to take on the Columbus Cobras once again, and Nick Montoya started the game going 4 1/3 allowing 2 earned runs in a great pitching performance holding down the powerful cobras. The Canes fight hard but took a 4-1 loss. The Canes finished the weekend going 4-1 with the second place finish. The Canes our now 15-8 overall and will held to Nashville for the Sandlott World Series, the Canes will take on the Kentucky Titans thursday at 2:00 PM and the Franklin Mustangs at 4:30 PM.
Canes take back 1st place in Super League
The Patterson Park Canes had a big doubleheader taking on the 1st place Patterson Park Raiders. In the first game the Canes sent Josh Lakes to the mound and although Josh did not have his best stuff he pitched well enough to be in the lead when he left the game. Lakes went 4 IP with just 2 earned runs allowed to get the win. Teddy Link, Tyler Olszewski and Clay Davidson also pitched in game 1, with Clay getting the save. At the plate in game 1 both Clay Davidson and Mike Wells homered, Nick McGill had a big two run single and Kyle King laid down a beautiful suicide squeeze bunt. In game 2 Mike Wells got the start throwing 4 strong innings striking out 8 to get the win. Taylor Neal also threw 1 unscaved inning, at the plate the canes were lead by Teddy Link who went 2-2 and had 3 rbis. Mike Wells drove in 2 runs to help himself, also with rbis were Kyle King, Tyler Huffman, Taylor Neal, Tyler Olszewski and Tyler Hilliard. The Canes our now 8-3 on the season and 5-1 in the Mid-America Sandlott Super League. The Canes will take on the Butler County Hornets tuesday night at Hamilton-Badin High School and Taylor Neal will be on the mound.
Canes Ground Jets
The Patterson Park Canes took on the Midland Jets, on wednesday night. Midland got off to a fast start but the Canes clawed back as they sent the game to extra innings tied at 8. Then in extra innings Josh Lakes and Tyler Huffman came up with big rbis for the 10 to 8 win. Josh Lakes got the win with 2 innings of relief work and Teddy Link got the save with 1 inning of relief work. Josh Lakes had 2 doubles and drove in 3 runs, Kyle King had 2 rbis and Tyler Huffman went 1 for 2 with an rbi and a sac. The Canes will take on the Patterson Park Raiders saturday at 1 pm in a Mid-America Sandlott Super League doubleheader. The Raiders are leading the league with an undefeated record of 4-0 in the league and 8-1 overall. The Canes are 1 game back with a 3-1 record in the the league and 6-3 record overall.
Canes strong, but not as strong as tornado
The Patterson Park Canes started really strong in the Tri-State Challenge beating the lawrence pirates 10-0. Clay Davidson lead the way with a homer and threw a complete game shutout. Also Taylor Neal and Tyler Huffman had bigs game at the plate, both going 2 for 3. Then as the Canes were getting ready to take on the Indiana Prospects, a tornado hit sheridan, indiana and the canes parents and players showed some nice sprinting speed, (it helped having wind at our backs) then the rest of the weekend was rain, rain, and more rain. Causing most teams to make the trip home, as roundtripper refused to let the teams play a single-elmination tournament format on Sunday. The Canes next game will be Wednesday night when they travel to take on the Midland Jets
Tri-State Challenge Schedule Released
The Patterson Park Canes will be headed in Sheridan, Indiana this weekend for the Tri-State Challenge. Every team who is in the field for the tristate challenge will play 4 pool games before bracket play starts on sunday. The Canes will start by playing 2 on friday night, in the first game the Canes will take on the Lawrence Pirates at 5 PM. Then at 9 PM the Canes will take on the Indiana Prospects, in a rematch of last years tri-state challenge semifinal game in which the prospects went on to win and win the whole tournament. On Saturday the Canes will play a doubleheader, at 1 PM the Canes will take on the Orland Park Sparks and then at 3 the Canes will take on the Michigan Thunder.
Canes start strong in Sandlott
The Patterson Park Canes went 3-1 in there first Sandlott weekend, and improve there season record to 4-3, getting two wins over the Diamond Stars 14-11 and 16-2. Then on Sunday getting a split with Kinect, winning 14-5 in game 1 and losing 12-11 in game 2. The Canes brought the lumber all weekend hitting 17 home runs in the 4 games, Mike Wells and Kyle King both had 5, Nick McGill and Clay Davidson both had 3 and Nick Montoya had 1. On the mound the Canes got strong performances from Tyler Olszewski, Clay Davidson, Josh Lakes, and Taylor Neal. The Canes will take on the Dayton Hustle wednesday night.
Canes cage Wildcats in tune-up for Sandlott
The Patterson Park Canes took on the Patterson Park Wildcats in a scrimmage on Wednesday night. The Canes brought a much improved intensity and took advantage of some Wildcats mistakes to win the scrimmage. On the mound, Teddy Link, John Griffith both threw 2 strong innings, and Clay Davidson gave the Canes 3 strong in the 21-1 victory. At the Plate both Kyle King and Clay Davidson both homered, plus Teddy Link was 3 for 4. The Canes will take on the Diamond Stars Saturday night at 4 and 630 and the Kinect Sidewinders who are still undefeated sunday at 4 and 630. Both doubleheaders will be held at Patterson Park.
Canes Lay Egg in Blue Ash
The Patterson Park Canes went 1-2 in pool play at Blue Ash, in the first game the Canes were shut down by a good piece of pitching by a lefty from Midland. In that game there werent to many high moments, as the canes only had 4 hits in the 7-0 loss. In game two the Canes took on the Monroe Diamondbacks and the Canes came to hit the baseball as they went on to a 12-2 win following a wonderful pitching performance by Taylor Neal. In the third and deciding game the Canes needed to win by 5 runs to advance to the semifinals, but couldnt get the job down as they fell to the Cincinnati Bulldogs 7-6. The Canes need to get back to work to try and correct the mistakes before this weekends big Sandlott Doubleheader with the Diamond Stars and Kinect Sidewinders. In good news at Blue Ash the other Patterson Park team, "The Raiders" went to the championship game and took home runner-up trophies. Congrats to the Raiders from one patterson park team to the other.
Canes get Raiders in Close One
The Canes went on to win a close one 6-4 in there final scrimmage before Blue Ash. On the mound the Canes were lead by Taylor Neal with 2 no hit innings. Also getting work was Nick Montoya, Tyler Olszewski, and Kyle King. At the plate the Canes were lead by Mike Wells who was 2 for 3, Clay Davidson who was 1 for 2 with a double, Tyler Olszewski who was 1 for 2 with a double, Tyler Huffman who was 1 for 1 with a BB and a double and John Griffith who hit another home run with a wood bat.
Canes start slow, against Dodgers
The Canes took on the 16u Dayton Dodgers on saturday in a scrimmage, the Canes went on to lose 10-5 in the 8 inning scrimmage. For the Canes, Josh Lakes threw 5 strong innings, Mike Wells came in for 2 strong innings and Teddy Link threw the 8th. At the plate the Canes were led by Kyle King who went 3-3 with a home run, double, and single plus a base on balls. John Griffith, Clay Davidson, and Tyler Hilliard also had a base hits. The pitching did a great job holding down the 16u Dodgers, offensively the Canes started slow not scoring until Kyle Kings 2 run homer in the 6th inning. The Canes will take on the Raiders in a scrimmage monday night with wood bats and will practice wednesday in there final preparation for the Blue Ash Wood Bat Classic!
Blue Ash announces Pools!
The Canes will be in pool D for the Blue Ash wood bat classic, as the try to repeat there crown. On Friday night at 8:15 on little riverfront, the Canes will take on the Midland Warriors, Tyler Huffman will be on the mound for the Canes. On Saturday the Canes will take on the Monroe Diamondbacks at 6 pm, then on sunday the Canes will take on the Cincinnati Bulldogs at 11:15. The winner of the 4 pools, will advance to the semifinals. The Canes will take on the winner of pool A at 6:00 PM on lil crosley if they advance, the teams in Pool A our the Kings Reds, Cincinnati Thunder, Lakota Tigers, and Patterson Park Raiders
Canes handcuff Raiders in First Scrimmage
The Patterson Park Canes had there first scrimmage on Tuesday Night, Beating the Patterson Park Raiders 14-1. The Canes swung wood bats to prepare for the Blue Ash Wood Bat Classic, but even the wood couldnt keep John Griffith in the ball park as he hit a shot of the left field fence. At the plate Josh Lakes also had a big day going 2-2 with 2 BB, and Mike Wells reach base in all 4 plate appearances. On the mound the Canes pitching was wildly effective, as they walked 8 batters but did not allow a hit. Mike Wells threw 2 innings allowing one unearned run, Tyler Huffman threw 2 strong innings walking one. Nick McGill, Clay Davidson, and John Griffith all threw 1 strong inning. Saturday the Canes will take on the 16U Dayton Dodgers in a tough battle, to prepare for Blue Ash.

Canes Start Practice
Patterson Park Canes started there winter workouts last sunday coming of a season in which they went 49-15. The Canes have 4 new players, Mike Wells, Taylor Neal, John Griffith, and Nick Montoya. Things went well and the Canes will play in the Mid America Sandlott super league and several national tournaments.
Canes Tryouts a huge success!
The tryouts for the 2008 Patterson Park Canes was a huge success. It was a very tough decision as 48 kids tried out to make the 2008 team. Making the Canes were Kyle King, Teddy Link, Nick McGill, Mike Wells, Clay Davidson, Josh Lakes, Tyler Huffman, Tyler Hilliard, John Griffith, Billy Madewell, Taylor Neal, Tyler Olszewski and Nick Montoya.

Canes have perfect weekend at Lebanon
At the will of the players especially Teddy Link, the Canes went one more weekend and that tournament is the Lebanon All-Star tournament. The Canes went 4-0, with 2 wins over Plain City bu run rule, an 8-2 win over Lebanon and a run rule of the Outlaws 11-1 in the championship game. The Canes finished the year 49-15.
Canes finish 3rd at Sandlott World Series
The Canes went to Nashville for the Sandlott World Series and had a great performance. The Canes lost in the semifinals to the Huntsville Tigers(AL). The Canes had a great run beating the Forsyth County Pirates (GA), Columbus Big Katz (OH) and even a win over the big time Nationial program at East Cobb. Beating the braves 10-8 in the quaterfinals. The Canes finished 45-15 on the season, Winning the Blue Ash Wood Bat tournament, getting 3rd in the tri state challenge, 2nd in the SDBL, 2nd in the Mid-America Sandlott League, winning the SDBL league tournament, 4th at the Springboro All-Star Tournament, and 3rd in the Sandlott World Series.
Canes charm snakes
The 31-4 Canes took on the 26-1 Sidewinders on Wed. Night at hunter park. The took the early lead with 2 runs in the 1st, but the sidewinders wouldnt quit. There were scores of 2-0, 2-1, 5-1, 5-4, 10-4, 10-7, and the final of 14-7. The Canes pitching held in there to do a decent job and the Canes hit all night. The Canes didnt play there best game, but it was good enough to win. The Canes still need to get better at doing the little things right, if we want to continue to improve.
Canes return to SDBL and Ground Firebirds
The Canes followed an excellent pitching performance by Josh Lakes who went six strong innings for the win. The Canes scored two in the top 7th to go up 3-1. Teddy Link came in the game in the seventh to get the save in the 3-2 Canes victory. The Canes our now 30-4 and play a rematch against the Kettering Firebirds next tuesday night.
Canes take 3rd at Tri-state Challenge
The Canes followed the spectacular pitching performance from Teddy Link to get a 8-1 win over the North Central Panthers on Friday night. On Saturday the Canes won all 3, beating the indiana prospects 6-2, Pony Express Blue 12-5, and the Indiana Flame 11-7. On Sunday the Canes were the number one seed, but failed to hit and lost to the Indiana Prospects 11-3. The Canes our now 29-4 and take on the Kettering Firebirds Wedsneday Night.
Canes Win Blue Ash Memorial Day Tournament
The Canes went 3-0 on championship sunday, with wins over the Cincinnati Sharks, Kings Reds and Kentucky Sharks in the championship game by a score of 8-3. The Canes only allowed 8 runs on the entire weekend and came up with some clutch hitting for the win. The pitching staff was incredible, Josh Lakes was 2-0, Teddy Link was 1-0 with a save, Billy Madwell threw 6 shutout innings, Tyler Huffman and Tyler Olszerwski both threw 4 shutout innings and Clay Davidson threw 2 scoreless innings. The Canes pitching only allowed 4 earned runs. Also Nick McGill won the Home run derby held at the tournament. The Canes our now 24-3 and will take on the Sliders at home on Thursday at 6 PM. Next weekend the Canes will be headed to Indiana for the invite only Tri-State Challenge.
Madewell Dulls the Vols!
The Canes won the second game in pool play on Saturday with a 4-2 win over the Cincinnati Vols. The Canes were lead by the great performance by Billy Madewell on the mound who threw 6 shutout innings. Nick McGill came on in the seventh to close the door. Offensively the Canes were lead by Kyle Kennedy who was 2-3 on the day. The Canes are now 21-3 on the season and will take on the Cincinnati Sharks in pool play sunday and with a win could possible have the semifinals at 6 and if they bring there A game the championship will be held at 8.
Canes Sting Hornets to Open Blue Ash Tourney
The 19-3 Canes took on the Butler County Hornets in what was in my opinion the best game I've ever been apart of, as a player or coach. The Canes had Josh Lakes on the mound and the Hornets threw Rutz. In the seesaw game the Hornets took and early 1-0 lead on a great piece of hitting by there cleanup hitter. In the second the canes used a suicide squeeze and a base hit to center to take a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of 4 a ground ball and a balk gave the hornets the lead back at 3-2. The top of the 5th Nick McGill gave the Canes the lead for good with a 2 run triple that one hoped the 375 sign in right center field. With 1 out in last inning and the bases loaded Teddy Link got the Canes out of it with a K and a ground ball for the 5-3 win. The Canes our now 20-3 on the season and will take on the Cincinnati Vols in the next pool game sunday night at 6. Billy Madewell will be on the mound for the Canes.
Canes pull out Wood for Sliders
The Canes pulled out the wood bats on Thursday night to take on the Springboro Sliders. The Canes were trying to prepare themselves for Fridays nights titantic struggle against the Butler County Hornets of the southwest ohio league. The Canes didnt bring there best performance but played well enough to win by a score of 15-8.
Canes handcuff Outlaws!
The Canes came to play on Tuesday night as the easily handled Outlaws Baseball by a score of 25-3. The Canes had 23 hits in the game and got a good pitching performance from Teddy Link who threw 4 strong. The Canes our now 18-3 overall and take on the Springboro Sliders Thursday with Tyler Olszewski on the mound.
Canes bounce back for weekend sweep!
On Saturday the Canes took on the Hamilton SE Cats our of Fishers, Indiana in a double header for the Mid-America Sandlott League. The Canes started Teddy Link and Josh Lakes in the two games. Offensively the Canes had 7 triples in the DH, including 2 by Tyler Huffman "yes thats right Huffy" and the Canes went on to win 2 run rules by scores of 10-2 and 16-3. On Sunday the Canes visited the Carroll Patroits, offensively the Canes were lead by Nick McGill who hit 2 home runs in the same inning, Clay Davidson who also homered and Billy Madewell who went 6-7. The pitching was superb all day as Billy Madewell threw a complete game shutout in the first game for the 21-0 win and Tyler Huffman threw 4 shutout innings in the second game for a 14-2 win. The Canes our now 17-3 overall, 13-2 in the SDBL and 2-1 in the Mid-America Sandlott Super League. The Canes take on the outlaws tuesday at 6:15 at Hunter and Teddy Link (5-0) will be on the mound.
Canes "Lakes" floods Outlaws
The Canes got a huge victory against Outlaws baseball on Sunday night 10-2. The Canes were lead on the mound by Josh Lakes who threw 5 innings allowing 0 earned runs and struck out 6. Offensively the Canes were lead by Teddy Link and Ryan Alvey who both went 2-3. The Canes next game isnt til Saturday when they take on the Hamilton SE Cats out of Indiana. This will be the first Double header in the Sandlott Mid-America super league for the Canes.
Storm Zap Canes
The Springboro Storm followed a great performance by former Canes pitcher Tyler Helfferich, who threw a complete game to get the 11-5 win. The Canes battled back in the bottom of the 5th to get a 5-4 lead because the storm exploded in the top of 6th for 7 runs to get the 11-5 victory. The Canes our now 12-2 on the season and have a big mothers day battle against the Outlaws Sunday night who our currently 11-2.
Canes Get Back on Track
The Miamisburg Sabers of the MWOL came to visit Patterson Park on Tuesday night. The Canes played well enough to win getting the 12-0 run rule. The Canes were led by Teddy Link who threw 4 scoreless innings, only allowing 2 hits. Offensively the Canes were lead by Kyle King who was 2-3 and Nick McGill who hit his second home run of the season. Kyle Kennedy was also 2-2. The Canes are now 12-1 and take on the Springboro Storm Saturday night at 6:15 at Patterson Park with Ryan Alvey on the mound. Josh Lakes, Clay Davidson, and Tyler Hilliard will all return for Saturdays game.
Canes Win streak Shotdown by Bullets
The Butler Bullets, who our currently 1st in the Midwest Ohio League beat the Canes in a hard fought 5-4 game at Butler. The Canes outhit Butler 11-5 but fell short in the only stat the matter the score. The Canes had 6 big time baserunning mistakes to cost themselves runs, not including mental mistakes. Billy Madewell pitched a superb game going into the sixth inning and Tyler Olszewski went 3-3 for the Canes. Other big offense performances came from Ryan Alvey who was 2-2 and Ian Huss who was 2-3.
Canes "Get Big" as win streak reaches 11!
The weekend started saturday as the Canes took on the Centerville Dawgs. The Canes got a 15-3 win behind the pitching of Billy Madewell. Offensively the Canes were led by Kyle King who went 3-3 and homered. On Sunday the Canes got off to a slow start but got a quality win against Lightning Baseball after scoring 11 runs in the Top of the 5th to win 16-3. On Monday the Canes took on the Miamisburg Sabres and got a 15-0 win behind the pitching of Tyler Huffman, Tyler Olszewski and Nick McGill. The Canes our now 11-0 (10-0 in the SDBL) and will take on the Butler Bullets (3-1), who are currently in 1st in the Midwest Ohio League at 2 PM at Vandalia Rec Center.
Canes Sweep Weekend
The Patterson Park Canes went 4-0 on the weekend, sweeping both double headers they played this weekend. On Saturday, in the first game against the Centerville Mustangs Ryan Alvey threw a complete game one hitter to get us the 17-0 win. In the second game the Canes took on the Mustangs again and following the great pitching performance of Tyler Huffman who threw a complete game one hitter. On sunday the Canes took on the Boro Brutes, in the first game the offense was the story especially in the sixth inning when the Canes had 5 extra base hits. In the 17-1 win, Tyler Downing homered, Teddy Link drove in 4 runs and the Canes had 13 hits. In the second game Billy Madewell was the story after being hit in the leg by a line drive he took the ball and sucked it up to give the Canes four strong innings. The Canes went on to win that one 15-3, offensively the Canes were lead by Teddy Link who drove in 5 runs. Defensively the story was the middle infield of Kyle King and Kyle Kennedy who turned 4 double plays on the day. The Canes (8-0) will take on the Centerville Dawgs saturday at 10 am at Patterson Park.
Canes "Get Big" and Calm Storm
The Patterson Park Canes visited the Springboro storm on Thursday night, and the Canes put on a show offensively with 17 hits in the 11-2 victory. Billy Madewell pitched 5 innings only allowing one hit, while striking out 3. Tyler Olszewski and Nick McGill both pitched an inning unscaved to complete the one hitter. Offensively the Canes were lead by Kyle King who went 4 for 5, Billy Madewell who went 3 for 4 and Kyle Kennedy who went 3 for 3 with a base on balls. Ryan Alvey and Nick McGill both also homered in the game. The Canes (4-0) take on the Centerville Mustangs (0-0), Saturday morning at 10 am at Patterson Park. Ryan Alvey will be on the mound for the Canes and Tyler Huffman will pitch the Second half of the doubleheader which will be play at Ironhorse Park at 6 PM.
Great start to 07 season with win
The Patterson Park Canes opened the season by visiting the EKRC Firebirds. Offensively the Canes had 14 hits as a team in the 16-2 win. Teddy Link threw a complete game 2 hitter to open the year, and also had two triples and drove in 5 runs. Other big performaces came from Ryan Alvey who was 2-2 with a base on balls and 3 runs scored, plus 2 stolen bases. Kyle Kennedy went 2-2 with a base on balls and drove in two runs. The Canes our now 3-0 on the year after recieving two forfeits, next game is Thursday at the Springboro Storm. The Game will be played at 6:00 PM at Clearcreek Park, arrive at 5 pm.
Opening Day Tomorrow!
The Patterson Park Canes will open there season on Monday Night at 6:30 PM at State Farm Park at 6:30 PM. The Canes will have Teddy Link on the mound, and it will be the first regular season action as Canes for Tyler Downing, Ian Huss, Ryan Alvey, and the first game for Kyle Kennedy as a Canes since 2004!

All, There was a tragic bus accident early this morning involving the Bluffton University Baseball Team in Atlanta, GA. Six players have lost their lives while several others have been injured. AJ Ramthun (Patterson Park 2005/06/07) and his brother Mike Ramthun, both of whom are on the Bluffton Baseball Team, were on this bus. Early reports are that both have some injuries, but are not life threatening. Please keep these players and their family in your prayers. Canes Hold Successful Practice
The Canes held there first practice of 07 at Let's Play Ball in West carrollton. The Canes had a very productive as they started swinging the bat and pitchers all threw a 20 pitch bullpen session. The Canes next practice will be Sunday March 4th at 1:30 PM at Let's Play Ball.

Canes practice will start Sunday Feburary 25th at 1:30 PM. The practice will last till 3, and it will be held at Lets Play Ball. Practices are also scheduled for March 4th and 11th that will be held at the same time and place!
Canes Announce 2007 Roster
The Patterson Park Canes have announced there 2007 roster. The team will include Tyler Hilliard, Tyler Huffman, Clay Davidson, Kyle King, Ryan Alvey, Nick McGill, Tyler Downing, Billy Madewell, Josh Lakes, Kyle Kennedy, Tyler Olszewski, and last but not least Teddy Link. The Canes will play in the SDBL and one of the Midwest Leagues.

Canes Finish Strong in Harrison
Canes Baseball finished strong at the Cincinnati World Series with a second place finish. The Canes went 3-1 on the weekend with wins over the Milton Athletic Club 20-3, Crystal Lake Bombers 14-4, and Laughery Valley 20-2. The one lose came to the Northern Kentucky Horsemen 10-7, where the Canes didnt bring there "A" game and cost themselves the Cincinnati World Series. The Canes finished 40-11 on the Season and were winners of the SBDL, SDBL League tournament, Lightning Summer Classic, a runner up in the Cincinnati World Series, a 5th place finish at the Midwest Championships and a # 1 overall state rankings by USAsportsrankings.com

Canes win Lightning Summer Classic
Canes Baseball went 4-0 in the Lightning Summer Classic to win the tournament. On the Sunday of the tournament the Canes beat the Franklin Sidewinders 12-11 and beat Lightning Baseball 9-1 in the Championship game. Patrick Hensley threw 7 strong innings in the two games. Pat threw 3 shutout innings against the Sidewinders, and 4 shutout innings against Lightning Baseball. The Canes our now 37-10 on the season and will be in the Cincinnati World Series next weekend
Canes Win Both in Pool at Carlisle
Canes Baseball won both pool games in the Lightning Summer Classic on Saturday. The Canes first, shutout the Springboro Sliders 6-0. Then in the second game the Canes shutout Lightning Baseball. Teddy Link threw a 1 hitter in the 3-0 win for his 7 win of the season. The Canes recieved the number 1 overall seed and will have to take on the Franklin Sidewinders at 11 am. Canes Baseball is now 35-10 on the season.
Muncie Cancels Tournament
The BPA World Series warm-up has been cancelled, four days before it was suppose to start. However at the last minute i was able to get us into the Lightning Summer Classic, which has a strong field. The field includes the Franklin Sidewinders, Hamilton Bulldogs, and Carlisle Lightning. There is also a team out of Indiana and the Springboro Sliders in this tournament. The draw will be tuesday or wednesday and the tournament starts Friday.
Canes take 5th at Midwest Championships
Canes Baseball took 5th place in the Midwest Championships held in Fishers, Indiana over the weekend. The Canes won there pool and then lost in the quarterfinals of the bracket play to the Lemont Indians out of Chicago, Illinois. The Canes did however hit a tournament high 15 home runs, 5 by Teddy Link, 4 by Kyle King, 2 by Clay Davidson, 3 by Billy Madewell, and 1 by Nick McGill. The most exciting game of the tournament is when Teddy Link beat the Indy Southside Bulldogs 10-9 with a walk-off Grand Slam. The Canes our now 33-10 overall and will be in Muncie this weekend.

Canes lay egg at T'ment of Champions
Canes Baseball went 1-3 in the Tournament of Champions, with a win over the Bloomington Blue Jays. The Canes fell in games against the Kinect Nationals, Northern Kentucky Reds, and Cincinnati Flames. Kyle King and Nick McGill both had incredible weekends at the plate, and Nick also threw five strong innings against Bloomington for the win. The Canes our now 30-8 on the season and have next weekend off. There next game will be Friday June 14 in Fishers, Indiana against the Pony Express Red at 7:15 PM in the Midwest Championships.
Canes Fall, As they overcome Early hole
Canes Baseball made it intresting late in there first pool games of the Tournament of Champions, by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Kinect held on to win the game 5-4, for the Canes Billy Madewell pitched incredible in relief only allowing 1 run in 5 1/3 innings. The Canes got behind early as Tyler Helfferich had trouble throwing the ball in the strike zone and got behind hitters which allowed them to score four runs off of him in his 1 1/3 innings of work. The Canes our now 29-6 on the season and will take on the Northern Kentucky Reds at 2:45 in there next pool game. Sunday the Canes will take on the Bloomington Blue Jays at 1:15 before finding out where the fit for there 4th game of the weekend.

Canes Wins SDBL Tournament Championship
Canes Baseball won 3 in a row on Sunday to win the SDBL Tournament Championship. The Canes now won the League and Tournament Championships. Canes Baseball our now 29-5 overall and will play the Kinect Nationals at 10:15 am on Friday.
Canes Clinch SDBL Title
Canes Baseball beat the Springboro Sliders 8-2 on saturday to clinch the SDBL League Championship. The Canes finished 19-3 in the SDBL and our 24-4 overall. The league tournament will start Friday night in which the Canes will recieve the # 1 seed, but due to a bye the Canes earned they wont play until 8 am Saturday morning.
Canes "Kinect" against Nationals
Canes Baseball beat the Kinect Nationals 12-10, in one of the biggest games of the season. Teddy Link went 3 2/3 innings for the win and Tyler Helfferich threw three innings for the save. Kyle King led the offense going 4-5 including a 340 foot shot over the right center field fence for a home run. The Canes had 14 hits to overcome from metal lapses on the bases and put 12 runs. The Canes our now 22-4 overall including 5-0 against the Midwest Ohio League.
Canes to Take on Kinect Nationals
Tomorrow night the Canes will have there much anticipated battle with the 25-3 Kinect Nationals at Brandt Field. The Start time for the game will be 7 PM and Teddy Link will be on the mound for the Canes. Teddy is 5-1 on the season with a 0.87 ERA and he also has 3 saves to his credit. Tyler Huffman will bring his hot bat to the game as Tyler is 17 for his last 20.
Wednesday's Practice Cancelled Wednesday Nights Practice has been cancelled do to lack of field availibility. There was a miscommunication with field availibility at Miami View Park. The Franklin Sidewinders and Canes Baseball are set for a titantic struggle to decide 1st Place in the South Dayton Baseball League. The Canes have 13 league wins and the Sidewinders have 8 but they are tied in lose column with 2 loses a piece. The Sidewinders are coming off there big tournament win this weekend at the Outlaw Memorial Tournament in which the beat the Canes 6-5 by scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Canes Get a Disappointing 3rd Place
Canes Baseball got a disappointing 3rd place finish in the Outlaw Memorial Day Tournament. The Canes won the quarterfinal game Sunday at noon by a commanding score of 22-1 over the Sugarcreek Diamondbacks but in the Semifinals the Canes gave up 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to lose 6-5 against the Franklin Sidewinders. The Canes our now 17-3 and get a rematch with the Sidewinders Weds. night in league.
Canes Start Fast at Outlaw Memorial
The Kettering Firebirds and Miami County Mustangs were no match for the Canes on Saturday as the Canes went on to win 8-3 and 10-1, The Canes got the 2 seed based on Runs Allowed and will take on the Sugarcreek Diamondbacks at Noon on Sunday. The Canes our now 16-2 overall and 13-2 in the South Dayton Baseball League.
New Tournament Format in place for weekend
Canes Baseball got some intresting news on Late Thursday Night that the Outlaws memorial has changed again. At 10 am on Saturday the Canes will now play the Kettering Firebirds, at 4 PM the Canes will still take on the Miami County Mustangs out of the Midwest Ohio League "A" Division who are currently 4-2 with quality wins over the Miami County Renegades and South Dayton Eagles. The only difference now in the 7 team tournament is that everyone qualifies for the 7 team single elmination bracket on sunday. Your seed will be decided based on your two Pool games that you play on Saturday. Canes we cant let this mess with our focus, so lets concentrate and have a great weekend of baseball
Canes Win Ugly, but still win vs. EKRC
Canes Baseball got another win on Wednesday night 11-2 over the 8-1 EKRC Firebirds. The Canes now have a 2 game lead in the South Dayton Baseball League as they moved to 14-2 overall and 12-2 in the SDBL. Kyle King didnt have his best stuff but he fought to go 3 2/3 for his 3rd victory of the season. Kyle is Now 3-0 with a 2.04 era. Teddy Link came in for the save, Teddy is now 4-0 with 3 saves and a era of 0.30.

The Canes got at 7-0 win at the expense of the 9-2 Lightning Baseball team. The Canes played as well as they could play and Teddy Link threw a 7 inning 60 pitch no hitter, in which only one runner reached on an error. But McGill cleaned that up real quick when he threw out the runner at second on the next pitch. Canes have the EKRC Firebirds coming in on weds. night and they bring there 8-1 record with them. Canes Baseball is now 13-2 overall and 11-2 in the South Dayton Baseball League and currently in 1st place.

The Canes win an extra inning thriller 5-2 over the Sidewinders. Tyler Huffman laid down a perfect bunt to put in the go ahead run, and Teddy Link three 7 great innings only giving up 2 unearned runs for the Win and Tyler Huffman got the save with 1 inning of relief work. The Canes went 2-2, as they beat the Miami County Renegades and Butler Bullets and fell to the Carlisle Lightning and Miami Valley Outlaws.
Canes Win Ugly, 4-3 over Brutes
Canes Baseball struggled early, but scored 3 in the bottom of the 5th to go to win 4-3. Kyle King had the game-tying hit on a 2 run single to right center, Teddy Link had the GW single, Link went 3-3 and threw 2 scoreless innings and McGill also went 2-2. Canes stay hot. Win Three. Canes Baseball continues it's march thru the South Dayton Baseball League, as the Canes pound out 38 runs in three games. The Canes bats were silent in the first game against the Lebanon Braves as the Canes got away with a 5-2 victory. In the night cap the team brought their bats as the Canes pounded out 17 runs in a 17-2 victory over the Centerville Dawgs. And Finally on Sunday the Canes got off to a quick start by scoring 12 runs in two innings and finished with a 16-0 over the Springboro Storm. The Canes now focus their attention towrds the Boro Brutes on wednesday.

According to USAsportsrankings.com, Canes Baseball is now ranked 2nd in the state of ohio. So good job Canes lets stay focused and keep improving. Canes Start Fast On Opening weekend The Boro Bulldogs fell to Canes Baseball in a Doubleheader on saturday, in the opening game the Canes won 13-1 and then in the second game the Canes won 26-1, great start Canes Baseball. Canes Baseball have scrimmaged four times this spring and our currently doing really well. The teams the Canes have scrimmage our the Franklin Sidewinders, Calisle Lightning, Kettering Firebirds, and EKRC Firebirds.

Canes Get To Go Outside
The Canes got outside on Weds. March 1st and hit some much needed fly balls and had some more room. The Canes worked on defense for almost an hour and things worked out. Hopefully the weather breaks real soon and things work out.
Practice Finally Started
The Canes had there first practice of the year on Sunday Feburary 12th at Let's Play Ball. The Practice went well as they all got back up on the horse to get the kinks out. The Canes will start preparing for there upcoming season in the new SDBL.
Tryouts a Success!!
Canes Baseball's tryout on Sunday August 7th was a success as the Canes had 37 players tryout for the team. The Canes had a great year finsihing with a record of 35-23 after only winning 15 games a year ago. The Canes Baseball coaching staff would like to thank parents and players for the commitment they made, playing 58 games and giving up most of there summer for the best of the team. The Canes won two Tournaments, finished 3rd in a tournament, finished 4th in two tournments and finsihed 5th in one more. It was a great season we hope to see all of you sunday at tryouts so we can try to improve once again.

The Canes fell in there first game on Friday night Hunter Summer Classic to the Franklin Sidewinders 15-5 in a 4 inning run rule. Then come Saturday the Canes turned it on as they won 3 games, by the scores of 15-2, 16-2, and 4-3. On the Sunday the Canes got wins over the Franklin Sidewinders, Carlisle Lightning, Middletown Reds, and two wins in the Championship games against the EKRC Firebirds.
"Cardiac Canes" Win Tournament
Canes Baseball won the 12u Clearcreek Cannons Spring Tournament on the weekend of April 8,9,10. The Canes started off awful on saturday morning losing there first game of the round robin, but went on to win 4 straight games. As they beat the Franklin Sidewinders 6-3 in the Championship game. The Canes went 4-1 on the weekend with 3 come from behind wins and 2 wins that took extra innings. Canes Baseball made the heart work all weekend with there 3 come from behind victories.
