2011 Banquet
April 1, 2012
Our 1st end of season banquet was a huge success!! There was a huge turn out and it was standing room only. Everyone enjoyed the food, set up, and trophies.
The hioghlight of the event was our Guest Speakers. They were ROBERT WOODS and DEION BAILEY, players on the USC football team. They shared with the Ravens family their experiences of playing youth football. More importantly, they are scholar athletes who carried a 4.0 and 3.6 GPA, respectively. We are so proud of what they have both accomplished and that they would take the time to speak to our up and coming athletes.
We are making plans for a BIGGER & BETTER 2012 season and look forward to seeing everyone again.
CAMPS
The Ravens receive many invitations for our players to particpate in camps held during the off season. We will post the information as we receive it.
Information about upcoming camps can be found on the Bulletin Board. Check back often because inforamtion is received almost on a daily basis. We will only post camps that are local or are held by someone known by our Athletic Director.
POP WARNER SUPERBOWL WEEK IN FLORIDA
Here is a report from Larry Yore (SCC Board) on his experience at the Pop Warner Superbowl:
Conrad and I just returned from the Pop Warner National Championships in Orlando Florida. I don’t think Conrad will object if I speak on his behalf – we had a blast. Unbelievable facilities at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. The Pop Warner and Disney folks are without a doubt the most organized operation in the world. Apparently, I am not alone in my admiration for the Disney Operation. It seems the 20,000 executives and employees who'll work Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5, 2012 in Indianapolis will be trained at Disneyworld. The Disneyworld people are UNBELIEVABLE. Even the NFL recognizes that Disney is the best in the business. To demonstrate just how impressive the Disney operation is, here is the link to an USA article I just read:
USA article
The Football and Cheer facilities at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on the Disneyworld property are among the best in the world. For the kids, the experience is truly a once in lifetime opportunity.

To watch replays of all the Pop Warner National Championship games: Game replays
To recap, the Redondo Beach Seahawks Mitey Mite team had a GREAT time playing the Harvey IL Colts Mitey Mite team in the first EVER National Mitey Mite Super Bowl game. The kids played a great game, and then went off to Disney World and Epcot with their four day park hopper pass. They received their medallions and T-Shirts at a huge Disneyworld Picnic where they ate free hotdogs, hamburgers and ice cream. Mickey, Mini Mouse, Goofy and the other characters were there for endless photo opportunities with the Disney characters. Endless smiles from moms, dads, coaches and the kids.

The other good news is that the SCC has been invited to participate in next year’s Best of the West games with, Mt Baldy, Palomar and the Pacific Northwest Conferences. The SCC football teams that do not qualify in the WESCON regionals will be invited to participate in the Best of the West tournament. The tournament is for the D-3 teams that want to continue playing tournament style games once Regionals kick in.
Also, I have a report from the Palos Verdes Mustangs who played in the Turkey Bowl in Maui, Hawaii. The Mustangs had a terrific time representing the Southern California Conference in Hawaii. The Island teams seem very interested in sending a team to Palos Verdes next year for the Beach Bowl. Good stuff happening with the folks on the Hawaiian Islands.
With the Best of the West, Hawaii Bowl games, and a true National Championship playoff structure, there is a lot to start planning for next season.
RAVENS ARE HOME TO NATIONAL CHEER CHAMPIONS!!
Our JPW cheerleaders came in 1st place in SHOW CHEER at the JAMZ National Championships in Las Vegas, NV on January 27, 2012. They placed 5th in FUNK/HIP HOP.
We are SO PROUD of YVONNE PARKER and her girls for bringing a National Title to the RAVENS in our 1st season. All the hard work they put in paid off. They have definitely put the RAVENS in the spotlight.
The girls will be wearing their CHAMPIONSHIP jackets as often as possible. If you see one of them, or Ms. Parker, be sure to congratulate them!!!
Looking for Coaches
The CARSON RAVENS is looking for strong, highly motivated, reliable leaders to help us build our progam and mentor the children.
We are accepting Head Coaches applications for Cheer coaches for the Flag, JPW, and Jr. Midget divisions. All other coaching positions have been filled.
Submission of an application is not a promise or guarantee that you will be given a team.
The application must be completed online. The form can be found on the ONLINE Form tab located on the left side of this website.
CONGRATUATIONS!!!
Congratulations goes out to the FLAG-WEST team. They are currently undefeatded and have not allowed a team to score. They are serving donuts weekly!!!!! Great job Coach Dre and his coaching staff.
Our Mitey Mite & JPW teams have both qualified to play n the SCC Playoffs. Congratulations to both teams and the coaches and coaching staff.
We are also proud of the JM & Midget teams. Although they came up short in qualifying for the playoffs, they did an awesome job too. Understanding how difficult it is to put together a successfull team at the upper divisions, they gave it their all even with the difficulty of few of the players having played together before this season. We appreciate the hard work, effort, and dedication of the players nd coaching staffs.
We are so VERY proud!!! Two of our 4 tackle teams have advanced to the playoffs. This is a excellent record to have in our inaugural season.
