The final booster meeting of the 2012-2013 year will be Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00 PM in the CCHS Dining Hall.  At this meeting, we will review the year of fundraisers and events and brainstorm ideas for improvements for next year.  The results of the meeting will be used to guide the Executive Committee in setting the budget for the 2013-2014 year.  We ask our 2013 senior booster parents to share with us their four years of experiences and to leave our boosters with their comments and suggestions for improvements.  Many parents have been involved throughout the year, please continue your involvement as we begin plans for next year.  We want to make our 2013-2014 baseball program stronger!  We welcome appetizers, deserts and drinks to be enjoyed while we work.   Prior to the end of the meeting, officer elections will be held. Dave McGowan, our senior parent Treasurer,  will preside over the elections.  Nominations for President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer may be sent to David McGowan at davemcg7@gmail.com. 

Central Catholic played competitively for 8 innings versus Pine Richland in the second round of the playoffs. Both team makeups were similar with 12 seniors on a roster of 21 players. DeRenzo went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the seventh inning.  Matt Stoessel was a workhorse on the rubber for the Central Catholic Vikings Varsity. Stoessel allowed no earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out three over six innings of work.

Central Catholic Varsity won the first round of playoffs versus Penn Trafford with a game score of 4 to 3 in the 2012-2013 WPIAL ~ McDONALDS CLASS QUAD A BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.  They proceed to the second round versing Pine Richland on Wednesday, May 15th at 7 PM at North Allegheny.  Go Vikings!

Central Catholic Varsity Wins WPIAL Class AAAA Section 3 First Place Seed and plays in the playoff game on Monday, May 13th at 4:30 PM at CCAC Boyce field versus Penn Trafford.  See the 2012-2013 WPIAL ~ McDONALDS CLASS QUAD A BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP chart for details.

Third Quarter High Honors and Honors Roll has been announced for our baseball student-atheletes.  We are proud to report that approximately one half of our Varsity and JV players and two thirds of our Freshman players succeeded in obtaining high honors or honors status during the third quarter!  This is outstanding academic statistics for our baseball program!  Keep up the outstanding work both on and off the field!

Thank you to our Baseball Alumni for participating in our Inaugural Alumni Game Saturday, April 13th!  It was a great event and a fantastic start of a new tradition!  The Home Run Derby and and Game brought back many memories for our Alumni and provided our current players a new tradition for the future.  We all enjoyed reuniting and strengthen ties in our Central Catholic Community!  Photographs are published under "2013 Game Photo Albums".  The Video will be published soon!  Go Vikings!
