VICTORIOUS !!

The Wolverines are the 2015 Northern Vermont Youth Football Division 1 Champions.  The Wolverines made it back to back titles by beating the Essex Chargers 14 - 12 on 10/31/15 at Colins Perley Recreation Center in St. Albans.   The Wolverines now have titles in 09, 12, 14 & 15 and were runners up in 01 & 08 .  This years 8th Grade Wolverines will look to move on and join the Cougars next fall and play for Coach Richards and his staff.

The Wolverines took a quick 8 - 0 lead in the first quarter with a convincing drive the chewed up much of the clock.  Only to have a determined Charger squad real off 12 unanswered points and took a 12 - 8 lead not only through half but also through the third quarter.  But another time consuming drive starting on their own 2 yard line then moved back a yard on a penalty, the Wolverines drove the length of the field and took a 14 - 12 lead that stood up.  A late 4th quarter Charger possession was thwarted by the Wolverine Defense along with an interception to seal the game.

The Wolverine crowd was loud and supportive all game and witnessed a thrilling game.  Essex played extremely well and deserve a lot of credit considering a lop sided loss to the Wolverines earlier in the season.

The always exciting Banquet will be held this Sunday November 8 at the High School with lunch starting around 11:00 am and the Awards starting around 12:30.
