Eson takes over as head coach

January 22, 2018

Charlotte Colts offensive coordinator Bayo Eson was named head coach tonight. He was promoted to this position after Terrell Duncan, who lead the team for three seasons, decided to step down. Duncan is now the team president. Eson has held multiple coaching positions with the Colts. He was once the defensive coordinator in 2016 and receiver coach in 2014 and 2015. He also handled special teams duties for the past three seasons. Bayo was a star player at Sewanee University and later played for the national powerhouse Nashville Storm. He has won a National championship as a player with the Carolina Knights in 2011 and as a coach with the Colts in 2015.

"Bayo was the right choice to replace Terrell. I know he will do great things with this ball club," said Charlotte Colts owner Shawn Wood. "He has extensive knowledge about the game and is very passionate about perfecting his craft. I can see him leading this team back to several championship games, and win."
