Fall Cherokee Teams
Thanks to all of the players and parents that came to the try-outs a couple of weeks ago. As a result of the try-outs, we are going to have a 15U, 16U, and 18U team for their respected age groups. There are still some openings in the rosters for each age group, however. If anyone is interested in playing in the fall and summer and would like to try-out, please contact Nic Baker at nlbsportsfreak11@aol.com.
Zeth Stone 08'
Congratulation to former standout for the Cherokees Zeth Stone. Zeth Graduated from Baylor School last year and played this year for Southern Conference power Elon University. After an outstanding freshman campaige, Zeth was awarded to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team.
18U WWBA Nat'l Championship Tournament
This year we have played an extremely tough schedule. There were 8 teams we have played this year that played in the 18U WWBA National Championship Tournament (Considered the best tournament in the Country). Here is how the teams did in the tournament.
* 1st Place in Pool
*Georgia Roadrunners 18U 8-1 Lost in the semifinals
2010 RHP Dustin Lawson gave up 2 earned runs against the Roadrunners for a tough loss to the Semifinalist team. (194 team tournament)
*East Cobb Astros 16U 6-1 Lost in the 2nd round
We were tied with the Astros after 3 innings (2-2)
*St. Louis Pirates 17U 5-1 Lost in the 1st Round
We had a 5 to 0 lead and lost on a walk-off single with 2 outs.
*Excel Blue Wave 18U 4-2 Lost in the 1st Round
Carolina Cubs 18U 4-1
Upstate Mavericks 18U 3-1-2
East Cobb Indians 17U 2-3
Competitive Edge Dodgers 0-4-1
With an overall record of 32-14-3, I believe that this may be the toughest schedule played for a 16U team.

Team History
Welcome to Chattanooga Cherokees Baseball. We are an organization that was started back in 2000 that has grown and will hopefully grow even more in the next couple years. Our first team was talented and competed with a very strong schedule. Now that team has left and many of those players are now playing in college (look at the link on the side called Collegiate Cherokees). Now the next generation ball players are here and are ready for their baseball careers to begin.
We will be playing in showcases and major tournaments in the summer. Our goal for the team is to expose each player to college and Pro scouts and to teach the players how to become better ball players mentally and physically. By playing in more showcases, there will be a better chance for each player to find the right college baseball team. By playing in major tournaments, the players will be exposed to challenging teams as well as players that will be playing in college and possibly the Pro's some day.
Sponsorship
We are welcome to any one company or person that will help sponsor our baseball team. Last year we had a couple people sponsor our team that helped us go to tournaments. Now that we have a web site we will announce on the web site who the sponsors are and how thankful we are.
