Mets Open
On a rainy Saturday morning, with Sean Lennox on the mound, the Mets opened the 2011 season with a 4-3 hard fought victory vs. the defending Champs Giants.
In each of the first two innings, the Mets threaten but could not score. The Giants also pressured our defense but the Mets were able to turn a couple of double plays in order to get us out some difficult innings.
Late in the game, the Mets were down 2-0 but the bats finally came alive and the Mets took the lead 3-2 with a timely hit from John Merritt.
Forrest Buchannan came in relief and only allowed one earn run in two innings. He settled down in the last inning to preserve the win and earn his first save.
Mets will do battle with the upstart Pirates at Rocky River in a double header.

Mets Vets.
On Thursday May 19th, the Orioles and Mets will have a scrimmage game at Cramerton Middle School, 7PM. We will try to find a field for practice as we gear up and get ready for the regular season and that Championship run.
