Claremont Beats Upland For CIF Spot; First-round Action At Rim of the World Tuesday
Claremont's Varsity team beat Baseline League rival Upland High School in three straight games on Friday, November 6, to clinch a spot in the CIF playoffs. Once again boosted by the spirit of an enthusiastic crowd of Claremont Wolfpack students, faculty, and family members, this time at the home of the Highlanders, the CHS Varsity squad took the best-of-five match with scores of 25-18, 28-26, and 25-16.
The girls from Claremont will face off against the Mojave River League's Rim of the World High School on Tuesday, November 10, at 7 p.m. in the first round of CIF action. Rim of the World High School is located at 27400 State Highway 18 in Lake Arrowhead. From Claremont, take the 210 East to the Waterman Exit (North), which turns into Highway 18.
Swan Song Booster Meeting: Wednesday, November 11, 6:30 p.m./New Location
Parents: The final booster meeting of the 2009 season will be held at El Ranchero, 984 W. Foothill Blvd. in Claremont. Those with children who will be in the program in fall 2010 should come eager to snatch up the many rewarding booster positions that will be left vacant once the senior parents bid their final farewells to meetings in the round building.
Banquet Set For Wednesday, November 18
Mark your calendars! This year's season celebration will be held on November 18 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Cal Poly Pomona's Kellogg West. Invitations have been mailed out and need to be returned with dinner payment by Nov. 4 (player meals are provided by the boosters). In order to build our season highlight reel (which will be shown at the program's celebration banquet on November 18 and is available for individual sale), we are asking for anyone with digital images of players to put those images on a CD, mark it either Frosh/Soph, JV, or Varsity, and hand it off to Jacqueline Banks or contact Vicky Walker by using the Contact Info tab in the menu at upper left.
