Maryland Keys Travel

Baseball Spring 2023

Youth baseball is called “youth” for a reason –

It’s about the kids. Period.

1) Vision for Program

• Together, we’re building a program that will be recognized as one of the premier select organizations in the county

• We’ll be known for having an atmosphere of fun, an unshakeable habit of hard work, and an overall culture of success resulting in a genuine youth baseball experience.

• We’ll have the highest quality player and coach development at every level – because when skill development and baseball education take the front seat, winning is inevitable. I know we can work together to build a renowned select program that provides development, growth, and success for all our teams.

2) Keys and the Community

• We’ve already established relationships with the local High School baseball coaches to ensure our Keys players have a direct connection to their High School coach they’ll play for, if they choose to play.

• We’ll collaborate on summer baseball camps, clinics, and fundraisers to not only grow baseball in our community, but also give back and generate community well-being.

• We’re working on developing partnerships with Maryland Colleges and Universities who have baseball programs and/or sports coaching studies to provide coaching opportunities for aspiring youth baseball coaches.

3) FAQs

• Age Group – May 1st is the age cutoff. Age on May 1st is the age group for next year.

• Cost – Baseline fees for each team (fields, insurance, uniforms, etc.) depend on how many players are on the team.

• League – Your team chooses which league to play in. Most teams play in the MCBA, but there are others to choose from as well.

• Tournaments – Your team chooses which tournaments to participate in. Our “Keys for Soldiers” and "Patrick Shifflet Foundation" tournaments will always be on the schedule.

• Paid Coaches – Coaches who have played in high school or above will receive payment agreed upon between CBSI president, Keys Commissioner, and Coach.

The Clarksburg KEYS Travel Baseball Team is helping to make sure that the community remembers our Soldiers this Memorial Day.   The Soldier sacrifices everything while the KEYS play baseball and spend time with Family.   When a Soldier is overseas, the Soldier's family is missing a Mother, a Father, a Brother, a Sister, a Husband or a Wife.   The KEYS want to make a difference.   They are sending a message to Soldiers and the Soldier's Family of their appreciation and to say “THANK  YOU !”

The 1500 Yellow Ribbon are now down, but the community giving is not over.    The KEYS are still attempting to reach their goal of $5,000.
