Our Fall 2015 roster has been updated and we are happy to welcome all of the new guys.
A new year and a new leaf have been turned with a lot of new talent on the team along with many returners from last year. We are looking forward to a strong season and will be opening up with the University of Alabama Halloween weekend. Times and location will be announced.
Coastal Takes 2 Out Of 3 From UNC Charlotte
CCU Club Baseball stayed hot in Charlotte this past weekend, taking two out of three against UNC Charlotte, giving them a 5-1 record in the conference this season. Pitching was on point yet again, highlighted by sophomore Steve Woloshin's 6-inning, 1-run performance in his first career start in the NCBA. Woloshin received Conference Pitcher of the Week for his outstanding outing, with teammate Greg Gentry taking the Player Of The Week Honors. Next up is in-state rival and conference leader Clemson University, who wiil be traveling down to CCU for a 3-game series.
Series Sweep Against USC to Open Conference Play
In a series that had Coastal putting 44 runs across the plate, while only allowing 14, the team won three key games in their pursuit of Conference champions. Stellar performances were found throughout the Sunday triple-header. Freshman second baseman Connor Skrypek found himself atop the conference with his Player Of The Week honors, as did freshman pitcher Tyler Wyeth with Conference Pitcher Of The Week.
Gutsy Pitching Holds the Lead for Big W Over Muskegon
Three freshmen held down the fort in the 4-2 win over Muskegon Community College. This is the first time CCU Club Ball has beaten Muskegon in our 3-game history. Starting pitcher Tyler Wyeth threw 5 great innings, pitching out of a jam in the 5th to keep the team ahead. Newest addition George Travis worked his way out of a jam in the 6th to keep the score at 4-2, and Ryan Justice closed it out to get the team its 3rd win in as many games.
8-Run Inning Stops Titans In Their Tracks
The bats were working again in the second game against the Long Island Titans, led by a 3 RBI performance from Brian McDevitt. Stellar pitching once again shut down the Titans, as Jeff Hutchins, Tyler James, Tyler Wyeth and Jared Hall combine for just 2 hits allowed.
The Goon Squad Takes Over On The Bump
Pitchers Ryan Justice, Steve Woloshin, and Bryant White proved too tough for the Titans to hit, letting up just three hits in the game. A five-run 4th inning broke the tie, and the team didn't look back, finishing with an 8-1 rout in the first game of the spring season.
