 • POMMELS AND WOLF NAMED BROWARD WEEK 9 TOP PERFORMERS

2011 Under Armour Broward-Beach Bowl
December 15, 2011 – 07:00 PM — Both TJ and Charles represented the Crusaders and Broward all stars well. They helped the South team come back from a 10 point deficit with less than 3 minutes to go. The team scored on a running play, ran for the two-point conversion, recovered an onside kick, and made a field goal in about 2 minutes of play. The South all stars pulled out the win 11-10 to keep the trophy in Broward for another year. Congratulations to all of the players from both teams on a great season, and good luck with whatever you decide to do with your talents next year!

Looking for something to do on a Thursday night? Come out to American Heritage Plantation at 7PM to support running back Charles Pommels and middle linebacker TJ Littlejohn. They will be representing the Crusaders in the Under-Armour Broward-Beach Bowl, where the best players from the small schools in Broward County go up against the best players from the small schools around Palm Beach County. It should be a very exciting game.
SMALL SCHOOL ALL COUNTY CRUSADERS
Congratulations to all of our CSCA Crusader football players who made the All County lists:

Austin Fitzgerald - 1st Team Defense, Defensive End
Nick Rivera - 2nd Team Offense, Center
TJ Littlejohn - Honorable Mention, Defense
Charles Pommels - Honorable Mention, Offense
Gio Rodriguez - Honorable Mention, Defense
Jeremy Varsallone - Honorable Mention, Defense
FALL SPORTS AWARDS
Thank you to everyone that came out to the awards ceremony Monday night. Mike Martin was awarded the Crusader Award, Charles Pommels was named the Most Valuable Player, and TJ Littlejohn received the Black Lion Award. We were blessed to have Steve Goodman (the infantryman who took down the sniper who shot and killed Don Holleder) and active sergeant Luis DeLaNueva to present the award to TJ. It was a pretty awesome moment when the crowd erupted in a standing ovation.
FINAL BROWARD COUNTY STATS
Many people believe that how many wins you have at the end of the season dictates whether you had a good season or not. Sometimes, that is not necessarily the truth. The 2011 CSCA Crusader football team endured a ton of adversity this year, and came out as one of the top offensive teams in all of Broward County.

Team Rushing - #6 in Broward and Palm Beach County in 1A-8A
#3 in Broward and Palm Beach County in 1A-5A
#2 in Broward 1A-8A and #1 in 1A-5A
Total Team Offense - #12 in Broward 1A-8A and #5 in 1A-5A
Charles Pommels - #8 in rushing yards 1A-8A, #4 1A-5A
top 20 in rushing attempts in 1A-8A and #4 in 1A-5A
Isaac Wolf - top 20 in rushing yards 1A-8A, #6 1A-5A
in rushing attempts in 1A-8A and #5 in 1A-5A
Mike Martin - #9 in passing yards in 1A-5A
CRUSADERS FINISH OFF THE SEASON RIGHT: CSCA-46 SFH-14
It was Senior night, and the Crusaders were determined to finish off the season right. From the start, it was evident that the HEAT could not quite keep up with the Crusader offense. Charles Pommels and Isaac Wolf did their regular damage, going for 140 and 124 yards respectively and a touchdown each. Fourteen different Crusaders ran the ball on offense, and they all contributed, as well as the offensive line, in gaining 400 yards of total offense. Seven different Crusaders crossed the goal line, including 4 offensive linemen. The first quarter had the Crusaders score three touchdowns: Senior Kevin Ramos on a 2 yard rush, Sophomore Austin Fitzgerald on a 15 yard pass from Senior Mike Martin, and Senior Brandon Roberts on a 1 yard rush. The stingy Crusader defense shut out the HEAT in the first quarter. Pommels scored on a 78 yard rush to start the second quarter, but the HEAT answered back late with a 30 yard Kerr pass to Senior Caleb Jacobsen (a former Crusader). Senior TJ Littlejohn shortened the celebration as he bullied his way up the middle to block the PAT. The Crusaders went into the halftime Senior celebration up 27-6. During halftime, the senior cheerleaders, cross country runner, and the twelve football seniors were honored: TJ Littlejohn, Charles Pommels, Jeremy Varsallone, Brandon Roberts, Kevin Ramos, Austin Sullivan, David Arce, Mike Martin, Jameson Kelliher, Greg Pelicier, Stanley Durbin, and Izzy Rigaud. In the second half, the Crusaders showed no signs of slowing down. Junior Isaac Wolf started off the scoring with a 12 yard rush that was followed up by Littlejohn punching in a 12 yard rush after a long drive. The HEAT finished the scoring in the third quarter with a pass from Kerr to Stevenson, and added another pass from the pair to convert the 2-pt conversion. The 2011 season would be capped off with a 1 yard rush by Senior David Arce. It was a season of ups and downs, but this group of young men never quit. They should be proud of themselves for representing the Crusader spirit with class, courage, and heart. Keep your head up Crusaders, you will always be a part of the Band of Brothers!
POMMELS AND WOLF NAMED BROWARD WEEK 9 TOP PERFORMERS
Both Charles Pommels and Isaac Wolf were named to the Sun-Sentinel Broward football top performer list for week 9. Charles and Isaac both reached the 200 yard mark in last Thursday's homecoming game against Coral Shores. What is even more impressive is that the game was extremely close, and both guys only got a handful of plays off during the entire game. Congratulations to both guys, as well as the offensive line, who had their best game of the season: TJ Littlejohn, Barrett Teeters, Nick Rivera, Jeremy Varsallone, Brandon Roberts, and Austin Fitzgerald. Great job guys, and keep it up this week!

CSCA CRUSADERS EARN VICTORY IN 2011 HOMECOMING GAME
The offense amassed 463 yards and scored six touchdowns in an all night shootout with Coral Shores, on homecoming night. Charles Pommels and Isaac Wolf each rushed for 200 yards in the game. Mike Martin was 2 for 3 with a touchdown pass to Kyle Boutin in the corner of the end zone. Behind a great offensive line performance (Starters: Brandon Roberts, Barrett Teeters, Nick Rivera, Jeremy Varsallone, TJ Littlejohn) the Crusaders gained 26 first downs and never had to punt. Senior defensive tackle Greg Pelicier ignited the Crusader Defense with a tide-turning fumble recovery for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Senior Linebackers TJ Littlejohn and Jeremy Varsallone led the defense with a combined 16 tackles and seven solos. Cornerback, Gio Rodriguez chipped in with four solo tackles, two of which were touchdown savers. The special teams had their best game of the year. The Crusaders held Coral Shores to 39 total return yards, and, kicker Kyle Boutin was a perfect 6 for 6 on point after attempts. The Crusader faithful were out in huge numbers, dominating the sidelines on both sides of the field. The Cheerleaders, the Band, and everyone in attendance got to see the 2011 Crusaders earn the victory on Homecoming Night!

NEW SOFTWARE TO HELP CRUSADER FOOTBALL
Preparing for games and helping players get scouted just got easier for the Crusader football team. Recently, we received a donation in order to join a website called Hudl.com. The Hudl systems provide a place to store video of our team and scouting tape of all the teams we play. One of the perks of being a part of Hudl is that we can easily make highlight tapes of the team, and any player on the team. These help in recruiting processes, and are nice to look back on a players best plays throughout his career. The coaches can also use the system to find tendencies that the other teams have, as well as our own. Crusader football parents and players should keep a look out for their password in their e-mail soon.
