The CSC Strikers, a top competitive Boys Under 12 team playing in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL)- Division 1 - Fall 2009, based in Oakton, Virginia continue to grow into a dynamic team with tremendous energy and passion for developing individual style. We are focused on a great soccer environment and unique player growth.
The team is Coached by Robert Helms and Assistant Coach Jay Lodge. Robert holds his National "D" and National Youth licenses and has been coaching soccer at all levels for 12 years. Coach Helms is assisted by former University of Virginia Player - Jay Lodge who received Adidas’ “All American” honors and was a member of the 1989 NCAA National Championship team. Jay received Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) soccer honors and participated in the US Olympic Festival. The team is professionally trained by Rich Shelton.

June 2008 - The Strikers completed Residential Summer Camp in June at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia
March 2008 - Strikers compete in Jefferson Cup and Arlington Invitational: In early March, the Strikers competed in the top divisions of the Jefferson Cup and the Arlington Invitational tournaments. The boys had an excellent showing and displayed consistency and growth at a high level of play. In both tournaments, while not advancing to the finals, the boys completed the competitions without a loss and gained valuable individual and team experience. The team rounded out the Spring pre-season by participating in the PWSI Ice Breaker. With two great finishes and one to grow on, the boys had a great time!
Over the last two years, the Strikers have had four extremely successful NCSL seasons. Additional tournament play included Champions in the Battlefield Classic - U10, Finalist in the Dulles International Tournament - U9, Finalists in the Dulles Sportsplex 2008 Winter Indoor U10 division, Champions in the Dulles Sportsplex 2007 Winter Indoor U9/U10 division, Finalist at Fairfax Sportsplex Winter Indoor U9 division, weekly participants in Premier Friendly scrimmages U9 and U10 with other top Northern Virginia teams, and strong participants in Premier tournaments including Bethesda Thanksgiving Day, Adidas Potomac, and OBGC Capital Cup.
The team completed an exciting 2007 summer including small sided tournaments, intensive foot skills training, and local camps in July and August. The 2007/2008 season will see an increase in the boys fundamental technical skills focusing on possession soccer and individual style. Our development plan includes three days a week practice during the regular season. Premier Friendly matches on Saturday's will continue the be a on going part of the boys development.

Strikers Cool Winter Competition
The U9 boys Strikers competed in two indoor leagues over the recent 2007 winter season at the Dulles SportsPlex and Fairfax SportsPlex - U9/U10 and U9 boys leagues. The Strikers concluded that play by winning the Championship at Dulles and Finalist at Fairfax. In seven matches at Dulles against travel teams made up of boys a year older, the Strikers scored 50 goals and racked up a +31 goal differential against the competition. In seven matches at Fairfax, the Strikers scored 88 goals and racked up a + 43 goal difference. In doing so, every boy on the team showed increased quickness, improved decision-making under pressure and ball skill.
