American Martyrs, St Joseph Power to the Championship
On Saturday afternoon at St Mary's Academy in Inglewood, the Final 4 in the 2009 CYO Playoffs for girls volleyball took place. The first match featured long time westside rivals American Martyrs of Manhattan Beach and St Paul the Apostle of Westwood. Both teams showed off their volleyball skills but American Martyrs played a notch above throughout the two games of the match to beat St Paul. The second match was between St Joseph of Long Beach and Holy Family of South Pasadena playing in front of their loud and positive cheering sections. St Joseph played more consistently in winning the match over Holy Family in two games. Sunday November 8 is the conclusion of girls volleyball season with the 3rd Place game scheduled for 1 pm and the Championship game scheduled to follow. Both matches will take place at St Mary's Academy.
