About Me
My name is Jibri Hodge. As a student athlete at Saugus High, I ran track and played football. After receiving my diploma, I attended L.A. Pierce College to further my education and pursue my dream of playing Division 1 football. After earning my Associate’s degree I accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Oregon to play football as a wide receiver. I played two years as a Duck while obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Soon after, I relocated to San Jose, CA where I became a Special Education teacher, coached football and ran off season conditioning programs for school age student athletes. After some time I made the decision to go back to school and earn a Masters Degree in Education Counseling from San Jose State University to become a high school counselor. This allowed me to move back to the Santa Clarita Valley where I now assist in the achievements of student athletes academically as a counselor as well as athletically as a trainer and coach. Every year I have coached football at Canyon High I have had at least 1 All-League wide receiver. In the 2011 football season I was fortunate enough to have All-League WR's Drew Wolitarsky and Coley Apsay. Wolitarsky was also All-CIF selection and All-State selection again as a junior. Currently at Canyon High School I'm holding titles of Department Chair of Counseling, Athletic Counselor in charge of NCAA, Assistant Head Coach of Varsity Football and Co-Sprint Coach of Track & Field. I look forward to assisting in the success of student athletes on and off the field or court for a long time to come.
