About Me

My name is Jibri Hodge. As a student athlete at Saugus High, I ran track and played football. After receiving my diploma, I attended L.A. Pierce College to further my education and pursue my dream of playing Division 1 football. After earning my Associate’s degree I accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Oregon to play football as a wide receiver. I played two years as a Duck while obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Soon after, I relocated to San Jose, CA where I became a Special Education teacher, coached football and ran off season conditioning programs for school age student athletes. After some time I made the decision to go back to school and earn a Masters Degree in Education Counseling from San Jose State University to become a high school counselor. This allowed me to move back to the Santa Clarita Valley where I now assist in the achievements of student athletes academically as a counselor as well as athletically as a trainer and coach.
Every year I have coached football at Canyon High I have had at least 1 All-League wide receiver. In the 2011 football season I was fortunate enough to have All-League WR's Drew Wolitarsky and Coley Apsay. Wolitarsky was also All-CIF selection and All-State selection again as a junior, check out his highlights. Currently at Canyon High School I'm holding titles of Department Chair of Counseling, Athletic Counselor in charge of NCAA, Assistant Head Coach of Varsity Football and Co-Sprint Coach of Track & Field. I look forward to assisting in the success of student athletes on and off the field or court for a long time to come.
