The 2014 season looks to be another exciting year for the Dardenne Athletic Association (DAA). Celebrating our 60th year of community service to the area youth, our association is a member of the New Horizon Youth Sports League (NHYSL) for the upcoming 2014 Baseball and Softball season. The NHYSL is a well organized and professionally run youth baseball and softball league comprised of Lake Saint Louis Parks and Recreation, New Melle Athletic Association, Wentzville Parks and Recreation and Wright City.  The primary Mission of the League is to offer continued safe and nurturing environment for all players, parents and fans, along with enhanced varying levels of competition for all ages and skill levels. All DAA home games are played at Gentemann Field, next to the Dardenne Prairie City Hall on Hanley Road. Away games are played on other Field of Dreams type Ballparks near our community. The association operates a full service concession stand during the season. Regularly scheduled games are played on weeknights around the middle of April through the middle of July. Games are played at 6:00 pm or 8:00 pm, depending on your child’s age.  We have teams for boys and girls ages 5 through 16 years old.
DAA Umpiring
The start of the season is quickly approaching. It will start the week of  April 14th.  That being said, the on-field clinic will take place next Saturday April 5th at 2:30pm.  We will cover

1) On-field mechanics
2)How to turn in availability for games.
3)Plate Mechanics
4)New umpires will be given equipment.

THIS IS A MANDATORY CLINIC, IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND THIS CLINIC YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED NOT INTERESTED IN UMPIRING AND WILL NO LONGER RECEIVE EMAILS OR OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FOR UMPIRING THIS YEAR.

Also, this Sunday March 30th, there will be a practice game between 2 teams.  I am looking for volunteers to work this game with me, and i will be able critique, and help you along throughout the game.  While not mandatory, this is a great opportunity to get some work in before the start of the season.

Finally, there is an opportunity to make $20 one night being an 'Umpire' for  the City of Dardenne Prairie's Pitch, Hit and Run competition that will be held at DAA.  Let me know if this is something you could be interested in, I do not know the exact date yet, but I will pass on that information when I receive it.  I will take the first 3 respondents.

If you have any questions, please email me at headumpiredaa@gmail.com
