The DHYS RED WINGS 12U are a competitive all-star tournament team from Medlock Park in Decatur, Georgia. Druid Hills Youth Sports [DHYS] runs the baseball program at Medlock Park, which is affiliated with PONY Baseball.

After the regular spring baseball season ended in late May, the 2006 Red Wings began competing against some of the top all-star and travel teams in metro Atlanta and the Southeast Region to prepare for tournaments in the Bronco division of PONY Baseball.

    Tournament Highlights:
USSSA Hot Times Classic June 3-4 in Villa Rica, GA -- Champions
Tennessee BPA Battle of the Bats June 9-11 in Cherokee, NC -- Champions
Georgia BPA State Tournament June 14-18 in Sandy Plains, GA -- 4th Place
Bronco District 3 Tournament June 26-July 1 in Powder Springs, GA -- Champions

    2006 Bronco Georgia State Champions
The Red Wings won the 2006 Bronco Georgia State Championship at Powder Springs Park on July 11. Through the state championship game, the team compiled a record of 25-7. The Red Wings next advanced to the Bronco East Region Tournament in Newnan, GA, July 17-20, 2006.

    Cooperstown Dreams Park
After completing PONY tournament play, the Red Wings wrapped up their summer with the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament at Cooperstown Dreams Park the week of July 29, 2006, where they finished pool play seeded 13th out of 96 teams.

    Final Record: 33-11
The Red Wings finished the tournament season with a record of 33-11. It was a challenging, exciting, and rewarding summer of baseball -- and a lot of fun! Congratulations to the players on their outstanding success, and many thanks to the coaches on a job well done.

The "Red Wings" name is a tribute to the Rochester Red Wings [www.redwingsbaseball.com], the International League AAA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.
